Will there come a point when the media’s bothersiderism breaks down under its own absurd weight?
I thought that the 1/6 insurrection riots, for example, might allow the media to get out from under the “he said, she said” reporting that always gives Republican claims equal legitimacy when paired up th truth. Well, nope. Nothing can break the national media out of its lazy habits.
Media’s both sides sbsession has gone too far: Jan 6 commission fight is fault of the GOP only
A corollary assumption, …is that “bipartisanship” should be a goal above all others, one that all other values should be sacrificed to, including values like integrity, decency, and a belief that public servants should serve the public. Again, only Democrats are expected to sacrifice core values for “bipartisanship.” Republicans can do what they want, burn any bridge, even continue to back the man who attempted a coup, but any failure of “bipartisanship” is laid at the feet of Democrats.
CNN’s Chris Cillizza coughed up a particularly gross example:
Cops blame Trump, Republicans for allegedly inspiring and then downplaying Jan. 6 Capitol attack
“We had violent political rhetoric. We had the organization of a rally whose title was ‘Stop the Steal’ and that rally occurred on Jan. 6, which I don’t believe was a coincidence,” he continued. “The circumstances of that rhetoric and those events leads in the direction of our president and other members… of Congress and the Senate.”
Fanone added: “What I am looking for is an investigation into those actions… and also whether there was collaboration between those members, their staff, and these terrorists.”

Sen. Kennedy: If partisanship were an Olympic sport, Pelosi would take home the gold
..as to Speaker Pelosi’s January 6th commission, I guess it comes down to: Would you buy a used car from Speaker Pelosi? I mean, that’s what this is all about. Isn’t it? Speaker Pelosi says that her commission is a nonpartisan search for the truth. I don’t believe that. Just about everybody I’ve met in Washington, D.C. is partisan. Speaker Pelosi is the most partisan of them all. If partisanship were an Olympic sport, she would take home the gold.
