Are Democrats Political Masochist?
Why do Congressional Democrats always lose? At this point it is logical to conclude that they get off on it. The humiliation sessions are too regular, too ritualized to not be consensual. It is all too easy to picture Coons, figuratively, bent over and chained to a desk while McConnell applies the figurative lash to his doughy ass. His face contorts into rictus of pain-filled pleasure as he meekly groans “Yes, Master. More concessions. Make us conceded more.”
This was from a December 3 2010 post in The Atlantic but it is still true.
Why Should Republicans Even Bother Winning Elections if Democrats Always Give In? Eugene Robinson wonders at The Washington Post. Republicans are “about to prove, once again, that you can get your way in Washington without a congressional majority–if you have a firm sense of purpose. Maybe the Democratic Party will find one someday.” Democrats should be winning on the tax issue, Robinson writes, but, “The White House, for the umpteenth time, has approached a negotiation by signaling in advance its willingness, if pushed to the wall, to make major concessions–in this case, a temporary tax-cut extension for the rich. It doesn’t take a genius to recognize this as a flawed bargaining strategy. … The White House doesn’t seem to have made clear what the objective is, much less how to get there.”

You sure this is figuratively lol?
good point
Masochistic? Maybe not.
Maladroit? All day EVERY day.
It’s been said many times we need more and better Dems, way past time to admit that what passes for a Dem is really no Democrat at all, merely Republican Lite and a cowardly one at that. The Republicans purged the moderates and liberal from the party decades ago, suspect it played out well for them. With Sinema, Manchin, Carper and Coons it’s time to admit it just might work for the Dems as well as they will not change.
