    She encourages her fellow elected officials to afford her the same level of patience they have previously displayed for our justice system, and with member fo the general assembly accused of violent crimes.

    Classic example of the “but the black guy” reasoning.

      Except–she runs the Auditor’s office. A statewide office that supposedly holds government accountable. I see no way she can effectively do her job while fending off legal charges.

      Darius is one of 21. He has been stripped of his committee chairmanship.

      It’s apples and oranges.

      BTW, check out Darius Brown’s new district. He’s in deep doo-doo. Not by accident.

      LOL… There is a lot of kabuki in the leadership calls for her to step down. The last thing leadership wants is an effective auditor. They are already uncomfortable with our effective AG.

    This is starting to remind me of the Chip Flowers saga except that Chip Flowers wasn’t the State Auditor who is supposed to be enforcing the laws and regulations and I don’t think anyone is really scared of McGuiness as either State Auditor or her potential for higher office. She’s trying to portray this as a political witch-hunt. When Flowers did that I thought it had an echo of potential authenticity to it but this just sounds like desperation. I don’t think she has done anything as Auditor that would suggest the powers that be should be frightened. The statement above could have been worded much more subtly, but it wasn’t, it’s a bridge burner which is a bit puzzling since she was supposed to be buddies with a lot of those folks.

      I agree. There is a type of politician that is in it for the “celebrity” and not for doing the job. I’d definitely put McGuiness in that category. This is something I wrote a while back:

      It is hard to imagine what Kathleen McGuiness is up to. She is manifestly unqualified for the job she has. She shows no real interest in learning or doing the job. And yet she is self-promoting her motherfucking ass off as if she is interested in some other next job in government that she isn’t qualified for.

      Maybe it is all just some pastime that is taking on its own momentum. Like learning to ski. You start on the bunny slope and naturally move up the the “greens” once you get the hang of it. Then you spend some lovely vacations meandering down the wide easy slopes, and one day you check out a “blue” because why not? If you are mildly athletic, you move up to the “black” and even if you aren’t great at it, there is some comforting structure to it, and the view is nice from the top of the mountain. Also, great lunches.

        They are going to prop her up and try to elevate her as a victim in the eyes of the public. They have plans for her. A poster child for what Democrats will do to their own. What they fail to realize is Kathy will burn them as well when she is done with them. They are so desperate for recognition they will take any hanging fruit in the state. Today it is McG.

      Selective enforcement is still a sinkhole of abuse, even if cops don’t care when you rightly point it out.

      Anyway McG’s response was aimed at the politicians, not the prosecutor. She is daring them to impeach her and will likely win that bet.

        There has never been a time in the history of Earth when selective enforcement wasn’t the reality. And it’s almost never an innocent person who points it out.

            It’s not as if they need to release a statement saying “step down.” They could release a statement voicing concern, pointing out that it’s an important job and that if wrongdoing was found she should be removed. You don’t have to be extreme.

            Occam’s Razor, people — the simplest explanation is probably right. And the simplest, most obvious explanation is that THEY ARE CHICKENSHIT.

            I remember hanging out at Legislative Hall on June 30th in 2018. I remember seeing McGuiness go into Pete’s office late in the afternoon. She came out minutes later mad as a hatter. Walked around like she owned the place. Has to be a weird relationship between those two!
