The For Profit ‘Patriots for Delaware’ Event was a Bust

I’m gonna say today’s event was a bust.
* I haven’t seen any media coverage of it.
* No one in my timeline has mentioned it.
* And this sad video shows the grass in front of the stage mostly empty while one of their featured performed sang.
Once you consider the cost of renting Hudson fields, paying the DJ and the bands, and setting up the tents and stage, I’ll put they didn’t make a lot of “mOnEy FoR sOfTwArE.”

The “The Even More Patriotic Patriots For Delaware” FB group has done good work keeping an eye on these lunatics.

SEPTA Attack Story Once Again Demonstrates That Statements by Police are Mostly Bullshit

The media takes statements by cops at face value, and absent-mindedly parrots them reflexively establishing police friendly narratives.  Why?

At least these made-up “what if a woman was raped and nobody cared” stories are collapsing after a week rather than being uncritically repeated for decades:

“Passengers did not sit around and record cellphone video of a rape aboard a SEPTA train for their own gratification without contacting authorities, Delaware County’s top prosecutor said Thursday.

The revelation from District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer runs counter to the police narrative of the rape on a SEPTA Market-Frankford elevated train at the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby. Police said in that case that passengers took cellphone video without calling 911 before a SEPTA employee called police.”

Trump still has supporters. Many of them.

If Trump runs, the Republican nomination would likely be his for the taking. He remains extremely popular among Republicans.

A Quinnipiac University poll conducted Oct. 15-18 found Trump has an 86 percent favorable rating and just a 10 percent unfavorable rating among Republican adults. And he already dominates early polls of the 2024 Republican primary. A Morning Consult/Politico survey from Oct. 8-11 found that 47 percent of Republican voters would vote for Trump; no other candidate was above 13 percent. -Via 538

This is what Happens When You Hire Scabs

Hours before actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer on the New Mexico set of “Rust” with a prop gun, a half-dozen camera crew workers walked off the set to protest working conditions.

The camera operators and their assistants were frustrated by the conditions surrounding the low-budget film, including complaints about long hours, long commutes and collecting their paychecks, according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment.

Safety protocols standard in the industry, including gun inspections, were not strictly followed on the “Rust” set near Santa Fe, the sources said. They said at least one of the camera operators complained last weekend to a production manager about gun safety on the set.

Three crew members who were present at the Bonanza Creek Ranch set on Saturday said they were particularly concerned about two accidental prop gun discharges.

Baldwin’s stunt double accidentally fired two rounds Saturday after being told that the gun was “cold” — lingo for a weapon that doesn’t have any ammunition, including blanks, two crew members who witnessed the episode told the Los Angeles Times.

“There should have been an investigation into what happened,” said the crew member. “There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn’t happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush.”

A colleague was so alarmed by the prop gun misfires he sent a text message to the unit production manager. “We’ve now had 3 accidental discharges. This is super unsafe,” according to a copy of the message reviewed by The Times.     Via LGM
