It feels strange to be a “blogger” who is also observing a pretty airtight news blackout. It is kinda like being a movie critic who has sworn off movies. Today for instance. You, dear reader, will have to fill in my gross ignorance of current events. As a starting point, here are some items that I have a vague awareness of.
– There is a Gov’s race in Virginia that Republicans are pouring billions into and people are saying is “consequential.” Our guy is lackluster Clintonite, Terry McAuliffe. My Virginia- based sister tells my that the Republican candidate is winning the sign battle by a lot. But “signs don’t vote.” That’s something I kept telling myself when Trump signs seemed to outnumber Clinton signs by a ten to 1 margin.
– Now is the time we complain about “Daylight Savings Time.” And for good reason apparently. Daylight savings time is terrible. Here is my suggestion. We spearhead a multi-state “End Daylight Savings Time” compact. When four contiguous east coast states join, it goes into effect.
You’re welcome.
The end of Daylight Savings Time marks the beginning of the half-year of cold and dark known as “Novembruary.” If it has to be cold and dark, at least let there be snow to make it interesting and awesome. But we hardly get snow anymore. It really isn’t even that cold anymore, just dark. Last year we had Thanksgiving dinner outdoors with candles on the table.
The good news Daylight time will be back in just over 4 months in early March:)
Is everyone aware that there is zero protection for freshwater wetlands and wetland forests in DE? Why is this? Why have no state legislators tried to do something about this?
Yeah, getting to the Winter Solstice is the worst. At least, psychologically, after that, the days start to get longer.
Not to mention, I HATE the Christmas season. Always feel like an outsider and find the season alien to me. Meaning, it’s a relief when December 26 rolls around.

Hey, I’d volunteer to work there for free. So much shit that never gets unearthed.
