My Fave Tunes For October, 2021
Fewer songs this month because, at this time of the year, I eliminate tunes that are on albums that won’t be released until at least January. I’ve already heard four stone-cold killers for early 2022. Can’t wait.
However, we’re left with some s-s-seriously good stuff. Including, wait, is that a jam band I hear? On my list? First time for everything, I guess. Presented, as always, in alphabetical order based on the artist’s name. Enjoy!:
Will this be Nathan Arizona’s fave song of the month? Only one man/myth/legend can answer that question:
Not your tie-dyed dad’s pop-pop’s jam band:
You almost called it, El Som. I have Gang of Yutes second, just below Ducks Ltd., who do the kind of thing I can never resist (I’ve actually written something about that style for a guest SOTD later this week). I don’t disdain the jam band, and I like “Pass Away” by the one with the long name. There’s a lot of jazzy soul like cktrl’s out there these days, and I say bring it on. Buffalo Nichols has a great name and the music is good too.
