OMG. It is so tiresome. Under-President Biden (who is wholly powerless) goes to Georgia and says we need to get rid of the filibuster. President-in-Fact Machin says no. Blah, bah, blah.
We all know that no voting rights protections will be voted on, but it will take hundreds of thousands of hours of a TV “analysis” to get there.

Democrats who flip to come out for filibuster reform at this late date are doing so because they are secure in the knowlege it won’t happen. Keeping the filibuster and restricting voting rights are existential for Republicans and their remoras like Coons. They have a majority coalition in the Senate – case closed.
Well said. After it fails, the same Dems will scream at Dem voters to get out and vote “oR tHE bAd REpuBliCANs WIN!”
Inspiring stuff! I can’t wait for Coons to tell me that it is all my fault for being too stridently uncompromising.
So, post abject failure in the senate what’s next? Never was a fan of try, try, try again when it’s obvious it’s just not going to happen. Would suggest Manchin as a faux “Dem” equals failure, face the real world and eject and be done, then seek another candidate for next time. Would suggest many of these problems relate to the DNC and not Joe the obscure. Lack of a good ground game is a big problem with the party.
Thing is, because of right-wing media propaganda, half the country thinks Biden was for filibuster repeal all along.
