No ‘Jibby-Jabby’ For This Jibber-Jabberer. With the inevitable outcome.  This Super-Spreader event in Texas has been extraordinarily successful in thinning out the herd:

Canon had announced on Facebook in November that her employer granted her a religious exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine.

“No jabby-jabby for me! Praise GOD!” she wrote at the time.

More recently, Canon had been an outspoken critic of COVID-19 vaccine mandates and pandemic-related restrictions. In one of her final Facebook posts, Canon shared several links to speeches she attended at a “COVID symposium” in Burleson in early December devoted to dissuading people from getting the COVID-19 vaccines that are currently available. The event was organized by God Save Our Children, which bills itself as “a conservative group that is fighting against the use of experimental vaccines on our children.”

Trump Disses–Ron DeSantis?  Perhaps it’s finally dawned on him that his followers are being killed off.  Or perhaps fears a challenge from him:

Former President Donald Trump appeared to snap at Gov. Ron DeSantis in a new interview with One America News Network, where he bashed unnamed politicians who won’t say whether they’ve gotten a booster shot. “I watched a couple of politicians be interviewed and one of the questions was, ‘Did you get the booster?’” Trump told the outlet. “Because they had the vaccine, and they’re answering like — in other words, the answer is ‘yes,’ but they don’t want to say it, because they’re gutless. You gotta say it, whether you had it or not, say it.”

NYC Mayor Blames Tenants For Bronx Fire Tragedy.  Not the demonstrably-negligent building owners.  I’m getting Dennis P. Williams vibes:

It’s notable that one of the owners of the Bronx building, Rick Gropper, is a member of the Adams transition team, a landing space for those who are likely to have influence over the new administration. At least six violations, over the years, have been slapped on the building owners from the city’s department of housing preservation and development. Multiple violations cited problems with the doors, which are supposed to shut to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.

Theo’s Appeal Gets Dismissed.  His argument appeared to be that his corruption was officially sanctioned by his being a public official:

Gregory is still awaiting sentencing and recently filed a motion for judgment of acquittal. He argued that using his position as council president to earmark the grant money for himself and the nonprofit did not amount to an “official function.”

Uh, what else would earmarking government money for himself be considered?

What do you want to talk about?

And? We can (and do) get this kind of in depth “analysis” literally anywhere. What’s your point? Or are you just happy to see the Trump back on top?

Because if that is your point – knowing all we know about Trump – it is a very dumb one.

  2. Don’t feed the trolls. ‘Presidency effectively DOA’. With three years until the next presidential inauguration.

  3. bamboozer says:

Notice that regardless of how many anti vaxxers bite the dust it never convinces the rest to get the shots, jibby-jabber aside you would think they would wake up, or not as I know a few.

  4. Supreme Court MAGAts kill business vaccine mandates:

In a “per curiam” or unsigned ruling, the court ruled against allowing the mandate to take place, eliminating the requirement for private-sector businesses with 100 or more workers to vaccinate or test tens of millions of employees. Employers who didn’t enforce the vaccine mandate would have been fined $13,600 per violation, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA.

“The question before us is not how to respond to the pandemic, but who holds the power to do so. The answer is clear: Under the law as it stands today, that power rests with the States and Congress, not OSHA,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote in a concurring opinion of the ruling, joined by fellow justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.

In dissent, the court’s three liberal justices argued the court has overreached by overruling health experts during a pandemic.

  5. Annnd, just like that, xyz is DOA. It was just a matter of time.

Didn’t this guy post here in the past? Or was he over at DE Politics blog?

Rhodes’ lawyer, Jonathan Moseley, confirmed the arrest.

But at least the HHS vaccine mandate for healthcare workers in Medicare/Medicaid-funded facilities — hospitals, long-term care centers and nursing homes, inpatient rehabs, ambulatory surgery centers, rural healthcare clinics, skilled nursing facilities, ESRD clinics and probably more I can’t think of — is upheld, which is a big deal. That’s probably 10 million employees, maybe more. Any “Medicare Part A” service, one that is paid by the CMS entities, has to comply with this mandate, and there is no exemption for regular testing. Vaccines are required, full stop.

The AMA was blunt about their feelings today:

“While the American Medical Association (AMA) is pleased by today’s opinion allowing the Center for Medicare and Medicaid’s (CMS) interim rule requiring COVID-19 vaccines for health care workers to take effect, we are deeply disappointed that the Court blocked the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) emergency temporary standard for COVID-19 vaccination and testing for large businesses from moving forward.

Workplace transmission has been a major factor in the spread of COVID-19. Now more than ever, workers in all settings across the country need commonsense, evidence-based protections against COVID-19 infection, hospitalization, and death — particularly those who are immunocompromised or cannot get vaccinated due to a medical condition. In fact, recent data released by United Airlines shows that before their own vaccine requirement went into effect, on average, more than one United employee was dying each week from the virus; however, today, none of their vaccinated workers are currently hospitalized with COVID-19 despite breakthrough infections and 3,000 current positive employees.”
