I guess I’m a little age-ist.

The Geriatric Party

Biden is 79, but he is still younger than the entire House Democratic leadership. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Majority Leader Steny Hoyer are both 82, while Majority Whip Jim Clyburn is 81. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is a comparative spring chicken at just 71, though Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin is 77.

Worse, there is no middle-aged heir apparent for any of these positions.

I had thought that at some point the GOP’s unhinged insanity (and the risk that insanity presents to quarterly earnings) would force  “business”  into pushing back against all the unhinged craziness.  The pushback never came.

DeSantis Vs The Mouse

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is following through on his promise to try and cancel a 1967 deal between the state and the Walt Disney Co. that could leave the company on the hook for millions of dollars a year in local taxes — and with less autonomy over its property.

On Tuesday, DeSantis announced that lawmakers in Tallahassee for a special legislative session would take up the issue. The proposal follows weeks of public attacks on Disney by the governor

  1. Why New Jersey Decided NOT to open the new marijuana dispensaries on 4/20:

They didn’t think they could handle the demand. With that 6.625% sales tax on the product, that seems ill-considered.

As, of course, does NOT legalizing recreational pot sales and raking in that revenue.

Term Limits. Cognitive testing after age 70. Basic civics questionnaire when filing. IQ of at least 100.

and i have decided i will not vote for anyone over the age of 65. the boomer generation is what got us to this point.

Greetings from old Boomer world! (Which I suspect most of us are). We’ve taken several mountains of sh*t over the years, much of it deserved. But I agree, the Dems are loaded with geriatric politicians. As such I would love to see term limits and expanded testing of those running for office. But as ever it will take a constitutional amendment, and in a nation verging on civil war it will not happen in our lifetimes.

  5. BHL appears as ‘character witness’ in trial of Rebecca Walker:

As well she should. The two of them were thick as, pardon the expression, thieves in Leg Hall. And BHL helped get Walker that top nursing position in DHSS after Walker had not done her job in Homeland Security.

“Character witness” — nice side gig for BHL. Maybe Park City Kathy will call on her in a couple of months.

    School board elections coming soon:

“The seat with the most interest is in Red Clay, where four candidates are battling for District C’s chair, including incumbent Ashley Sabo.”

    DE GOP is involved:

“Jane Brady, the chair of Delaware’s Republic Party, says that her party started officially supporting school board candidates last year as issues like the presence of gender-neutral bathrooms in schools became central to the races.”

    • Alby says:

You’d think Jane Brady would be in favor of gender-neutral bathrooms, since it’s hard to tell which gender it is.
