BREAKING NEWS!: Stephanie Bolden Faces Primary Challenger!
While I hate to break news on a holiday weekend, news like this will brighten your day.
One James Taylor (no, not that one) has announced that he will challenge one of Delaware’s most corrupt legislators. You know, Stephanie Bolden, the Slumlords’ Best Friend.
My understanding is that some of our favorite political activists have been working with him for awhile. To say he’d be an improvement is an understatement:
I’ve been talking to members of our community in these trying times and they’re ready for a change. Because of outdated perspectives and politicians’ unkept promises, our neighbors here in Wilmington and across the state are feeling the effects of national problems such as runaway inflation, COVID-19, and gun violence more keenly than Americans living almost anywhere else. Still, despite their apparent struggles and consistent attempts at engaging our elected representatives, they have been ignored. Our families, friends, and neighbors deserve better, and that’s why I’m running to represent us in the State House.
A native of Wilmington, Delaware, James graduated from Alexis I. Dupont High School, the Berklee College of Music, and, recently, the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, where he studied macroeconomics and international law.
Prior to grad school, James spent nearly a decade working in social services. He began this period of his career working with youth through programs at the Hilltop Lutheran Neighborhood Center and the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League. Hoping to deepen his impact on youth and their families, James transitioned to Delaware’s Division of Social Services (DSS) and served for two years as a Senior Social Worker & Case Manager.
Well, yes, he spent some time in Chris Coons’ office, but I for one will not hold that against him. He’s got quite the detailed platform. A policy wonk’s platform. In case you were wondering:
As your next state representative I will be sensible and support the following:
- A Tenant Bill of Rights – Reevaluating landlord-tenant law in light of present realities and clearly providing for a tenant’s right to legal counsel, fairness in rent price determination models, and tenant protections in a comprehensive bill.
That alone is enough for me. But there’s a whole lot more. Not to mention, Bolden has been gifted committee assignments that she has then used to kill progressive legislation at the behest of the Kop Kabal. She has been unfit for public office for some time. In other words, now might be a good time to ante up to ride Bolden’s butt out of Dover. I just did. Hey, maybe she can get a per diem with City Council. Again.
“some of our favorite political activists” are really working hard at candidate recruitment and seem determined to take out some trash. They deserve all of our support.
They do indeed–although they could have saved me some agita by cluing me in.
But “agita” is your middle name.
Hey, I’m not happy unless I’m unhappy.
BTW, this earworm has stuck with me for something like 40 years:
