Noted Doofus, Chris Coons, is Disgusted but Thinks Great Gun Compromise is Still “Possible”

Filed in National by on June 20, 2022

Coons was in rare form on TV today. Opening with the news that he “can hardly stand serving” in the wholly disgusting US Senate anymore. (Aside – Well, fucking quit then. Give someone else a chance.) Then pivoting to being “hopeful” that “at least” billions will be invested in fully kitted out ER/trauma units and mental health facilities for all schools, because school shootings cannot (and should not #freedom!) be stopped.

Listen for yourself if you don’t believe me.

This is the most important election of your lifetime. We must stave off this threat of the fascist insurrectionist party.

Also, they are our important friends and colleagues and we love them. And the Senate loves me.

If his mom hadn’t shacked up with Gore, Coons would be managing a collection call center today, maybe.

  2. Joe Connor says:

He got his start in politics doing graphics for a county office candidate that his wife was managing. Forever underqualified. Points if you can name the candidate. 🙂

As much as I loath the guy, I have to admit that I like Coons’ idea for investing in fully kitted out ER/trauma units and mental health facilities for all schools. I love that it is such a transparent capitulation to the idea that school massacres are utterly inevitable.

It is maybe the most transparently horrible idea I’ve ever heard of.

Yes, it’s a great idea, because there are no staffing shortages at real trauma centers, so it should be simplicity itself to staff the 98,755 public schools (true figure) in the United States.
