Republicans, drunk on their own minority-rule power, think they now have a shot at banning abortion nationwide. If all they have to do to achieve it is outwit our feckless Democratic politicians, I’d say they have a chance.
But I don’t think this ends the way conservatives think it does. Anti-anti-abortion violence has already begun.
Incyte, the company that moved into the old Wanamaker’s building on Augustine Cutoff in 2014 and has continued to grow since, won a court case over its plan to purchase the property behind it, the current site of the Wilmington Friends lower school. A new elementary school would be built on the main campus, between the upper school and parkland, but the Alapocas homeowners’ association vetoed the plan, based on the ancient principal, “Not in My Back Yard, or Yours Either.” Friends School sued, and if the homeowners don’t like the result they can appeal to the state Supreme Court.
Not much else going on otherwise, as most of the nation is still stunned by the reactionary revolution unleashed by the illegitimate Supreme Court. Excuse me while I go vote harder.
The floor’s yours.
