Re flight cancellations – largely due to deregulation under Reagan, airlines are allowed to sell seats for flights that they know will not happen and also allowed to not refund those sales. Because the FAA has been fully captured by the airline industry there is really no meaningful enforcement of anything.
Largely due to airline employees getting COVID because their employers dropped masking requirements.

The shoe repair place in Concord Mall (Fast Feet) moved to Fairfax Shopping Center. Dropped some shoes off there the other day and the woman behind the counter said they had to move. It was getting scary.
Oh come on now, how many failed, ghostly and near abandoned malls have we seen now? I lost count 20 years ago. And if I forget I can drive past the old Blue Hen mall in Dover, or for that matter see the future at the Dover Mall which is getting a bit ghosty itself.
