I suck at blogging.  I’m still not following the news.  But this item penetrated my anti-news carapace.

Judge Charles Atchley Jr was one of the record number of federal judges appointed by former President Donald Trump and rushed into service by Chris Coons, so heck of a job there Coonsie!  Always remember that for the GOP, the cruelty is the point.  Whenever Coons waxes rhapsodic about bipartisanship, he is indeed singing the praises of cruelty.

As far as anything else happening out there in the world, you’ll have to fill me in via the comments section.

In our smaller world,  I met Lydia York  and was very impressed. Meet her yourself at an upcoming fundraiser, and donate away.

I also had saw an excellent ‘DelShakes’ production of ‘The Tempest’ put in in Rockwood Park.  Standout performances by Gerrad Alex Taylor as Caliban and Lexi Thammavong as Ariel.  Runs (Wed – Sun) through July 31st.  Buy tickets here.

Lydia York made a good point when I spoke to her. It isn’t just the most recent auditor – this job has basically gone undone for years and years.

Maybe since 1989. I don’t know about Dennis Greenhouse, but he was probably terrible too, so…

Thanks for the heads up, I’ll definitely catch The Tempest this summer. I saw a buff Patrick Stewart as Prospero on Broadway in 1995 – awesome! Also saw a memorable Midsummer Night’s Dream in Central Park with the oddly-cast William Hurt as Oberon in 1982.

“this [auditor] job has basically gone undone for years and years”

Which is an essential feature of the Delaware Way. Our current auditor has even testified “everybody does it” (featherbedding, structuring, and nepotism).

Moral of the story: Explain what you are trying to accomplish/get organizational buy-in and treat the staff at your agency as human beings rather that pawns in your political chess game.

Then hire your friends and family and request a 400% increase in personal travel expenses from the Joint Finance Committee. (Look it up!)

Second part is tough if you fail the first part.

Lol, Protack, as much as everyone thought he was a dick (and he legally proved himself to be), was right about the necessity of a real watchdog necessary to curb the De Way. IG, lol. Not trying to associate with Protack (or however you spell that shit), he was right, you need more teeth to fight corruption.
