A bunch of election denying Trumpist Nutbags won last night in swing states.  Joe Scarborough thinks it is great news for Democrats because they are so crazy.  I’m not sure that math holds up.

What’s going on in the Sussex Recorder of Deeds GOP primary? Do you really have to go full on GunNut-Patriot-MAGA-shithead to fill this office?

Speaking of primary races, we are 41 days out and if you can help out directly, money is nice. If five people give $20.00 to DeShanna Neal today to help her defeat Kop Kabalist Larry Mitchell, I’ll match that $100.

This is the kind of picture you typically see with a caption that reads “He was a responsible gun owner up until he moment he wasn’t.”

Conversely the caption could read “Scott Dailey blasts through red tape like an elementary school classroom”

  2. jason330 says:

The notion that Republicans nominated candidates that are “too extreme to win” is a very sober centrist Democratic position. And it does work from time to time.

It also doesn’t work from time to time. I remember the cheers that went up when Trump was nominated.

I always hope that owners of that sort of gun will die by one. Only fitting.

“I always hope that owners of that sort of gun will die by one. Only fitting.”
Can relate! As in Me Too!

    • meatball says:

Why? Death by AR is usually swift. That’s why it’s a weapon of war. Why not prolong the agony.

      • Alby says:

I don’t care if they suffer. It’s not about making them suffer. It’s about making them disappear.

      • GeoBumm says:

Most any ammosexual will tell you assault weapons are meant to wound, not kill. Small caliber, high velocity rounds, and all that. The philosophy is to make taking care of wounded a burden for the other side rather than blasting them to bits. And contrary to movies, these wounds can be horrific. To the point that I wonder how quickly minds wound change if photo documentation of the aftermath of a school shooting were to be made public. Many of these kids did not die quick, peaceful deaths. I’m sure there was drawn out terror and suffering that is not easily conceived through the printed word of the ordeal.

    • puck says:

It’s not appropriate to wish someone dead. Therefore I limit myself to just hoping they blow off their trigger finger.

      • Alby says:

Not appropriate? ROFL. What, there’s a fucking list somewhere of what’s appropriate and what’s not?

What are you so squeamish about?

        • puck says:

Eliminationist rhetoric cuts both ways and is usually a bad idea.

          • Alby says:

A bad idea how? It’s rhetoric. They already wish me dead — many times, right to my face, and sometimes it’s more like a death threat. Got my first one after the very first restaurant review I ever wrote for TNJ. Restaurateur threatened to kill me, my wife, my kids and my dog. I told him I didn’t have a dog.

I’m not threatening to kill them, I just want them dead. This is some kind of silly taboo, akin to “don’t speak ill of the dead.”

What you mean is that you’re uncomfortable with it. People wish other people dead every day and nothing comes of it. They also wish they’d win the lottery, and nothing comes of that, either.

Wishes are only granted in fairy tales.

Kansas voters resoundingly vote down abortion restrictions:

    • Alby says:

For those who don’t click through, the vote was 59-41. In Kansas.

But Democrats would rather talk about inflation, which they can’t do anything meaningful to control.

  5. Arthur says:

I really hope if the J6 committee or AG Garland decide to prosecute trump they wait till after the mid terms. i worry if they do try to they will martyr him and even those repubes who think what he did was wrong will be turned by the rest of the trumpanzees and think its a political hit job and everyone running under his platform will benefit

  6. nathan arizona says:

    “trumpanzees” is good.

    • Alby says:

Seems like an insult to chimps tbh.

      • Hop-Frog says:

Not a good idea to tick off a chimp, I hear. They’ve been known to tear an adult human limb from limb while chewing off their face. I think it’s a cultural thing.

  7. Nancy Willing says:

I gave Neal $50.00 today if you want to count that toward the match.

  8. ScarletWoman says:

Speaking of primaries … We have early voting this year in the primary and general elections. There will be multiple locations available for about 10 days with machine voting and ample hours of availability. I have been a poll worker for many years, and I can remember primaries where we were lucky if there was one voter per hour. Trying to stay awake was key, and it was imperative to bring snacks, puzzles and reading materials. (Do not even ask me about school board elections: usually if you got 5 or 10 friends to vote you could win.) Even without early voting, these elections are very costly, with many paid poll workers, preparation of the polling sites, training, and all the logistics of moving and security for the voting machines. The sub-10% turnouts are absolutely criminal. As is the general complete lack of awareness by voters of what districts they live in and who their representatives are.

I have posted the following on my Facebook page. Please feel free to repost or link on your site or invite your readers to do the same.
    Appreciatively,
    Representative John Kowalko
I am sure that most of you are aware that I have chosen to make this my final term in office. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve my 25th District and constituency and all of the families in Delaware.
I am pleased and proud to announce that a highly qualified, well-informed and compassionate candidate has stepped forward to succeed me as your 25th District State Representative.
Cyndie Romer is that person. I have met with Cyndie on quite a few occasions, and I am positive that she will be the person who bests represents the people in the 25th District. Her interests and passion for the community align with mine. She is a strong and consistent supporter of good government and transparent government. She is relentless in her advocacy for the families and taxpayers of Delaware. Cyndie Romer is a talented and hard-working individual who is dedicated to true public education reform and has tirelessly and unequivocally supported equity and equitable treatment for all people regardless of ethnicity, gender, race or socioeconomic status.
Cyndie Romer’s candidacy reassures me that the only special interest that will be served is that of the public when she is elected as your 25th District Representative. I need all of you to let your friends and neighbors in the 25th know that they should vote for Cyndie Romer in the Democrat primary on Tuesday, September 13th. This will be one of the most important votes they will cast.

Something funny about that video. it’s the wrong one.

  13. Andrew C says:

I bet if I asked you to name the Delaware town in which this headline was true…

“Man crushed to death by bale of hay in [location]” ( https://tinyurl.com/yh72d3hc – don’t click without guessing!)

    …you’d take 50 guesses. No, 75.

    Guess!

  14. nathan arizona says:

Hockessen, famous for its farmers. (I didn’t look.)

  15. Scott Dailey says:

Thanks for posting my picture. Thanks also for the vapid look into the shallow end of the intellectual pool. Too many warm spots in this part of the water for me, but I wish you all the best!

    • Joe Connor says:

Scott, I have known you over 20 years and posing with a weapon of war while serving in a row office is beneath you but apparently that’s where you want to be.

      • Jason330 says:

Is it? I guess that’s where the Sussex GOP is right now. To the original question – does he really have to pander like this?

After winning 3 times, does he really have to go full on GunNut-Patriot-MAGA-shithead to fill the Recorder of Deeds office? Apparently, yes.

      • Scott Dailey says:

Joe- Great to hear from you. I’m glad you’re well. I think you lived long enough in Sussex County to understand that I’ve never posed with a “weapon of war”. I think an honest conversation starts with words that are unloaded as well.

        • Jason330 says:

So what’s this picture? Who are you thinking about shooting when you posed with this thing? Also, that a very long magazine. is it specially made for mass shooters?

        • Alby says:

Why are you posing with a gun at all? You’re the register of wills ffs.

          • Alby says:

Oops, recorder of deeds, my bad.

I guess the question is the answer. It’s hard to run for the office on the platform “I’m Great at Recording Deeds.”

        • RE Vanella says:

You look like a you’re about to protect the constitutional rights of two car dealership owners and a retired dentist of the 3rd tee of a public golf course.

        • Joe Connor says:

The babies at Uvalde and Sandy Hook some of whom were decapitated and Mr. Gutenberg’s daughter who was cut in half at Parkland with her classmate by the “device” you are gripping in your arms and grinning is nothing short of a weapon of war!
          Cheers

    • GeoBumm says:

Heh, telling in that “vapid look” is the perfect description of your photo. But hey, you do you.

    • Arthur says:

Is there a more do-nothing job than recorder of deeds? and how does someone posing with an instrument of child killing need it to perform his clerical job that shouldnt pay more than minimum wage?a

      • Jason330 says:

yah. I was hoping he was going to stick around for a bit so I could ask exactly how recorder of deeds office protects his imagined version of the 2nd amendment.

        • Scott Dailey says:

Put your real name up here and we can discuss anything you want.

          • Jason330 says:

So, who are you thinking about shooting when you posed with this thing? Was that picture taken before or after Uvalde? (An homage to the shooter?)

Also, that a very long magazine. Is it specially made for mass shooters?

            – Jason Scott

          • jason330 says:

If those questions are too hot to handle or might involve self-incrimination, how about – How exactly does the Recorder of Deeds office protect the 2nd amendment?

          • John kowalko says:

Ok same question as Jason. My name is John Kowalko (State Representative John Kowalko). Here’s my first question. Do you feel more manly or assertive fondling your gun in that photo. Are your insecurities locked and loaded? What is the significance/intention of that picture? Intimidation of your foes, impressing some anti-maskers, looking for NRA checks, Trumpty Dumpty approval? Perhaps a show of solidarity with Alex Jones

  16. RE Vanella says:

I know people who own AR style long guns. They don’t pose for dumb photos. This guy’s a fucking dork

  17. RE Vanella says:

Fully armed security for the local little league team. New meaning to the idea of “special” operator.

  18. ScarletWoman says:

Thinking he may be compensating for something. Does he also drive a red sports car?

  19. RE Vanella says:

He’s going to shoot the deeds to own the libs.
