A bunch of election denying Trumpist Nutbags won last night in swing states. Joe Scarborough thinks it is great news for Democrats because they are so crazy. I’m not sure that math holds up.
What’s going on in the Sussex Recorder of Deeds GOP primary? Do you really have to go full on GunNut-Patriot-MAGA-shithead to fill this office?

The notion that Republicans nominated candidates that are “too extreme to win” is a very sober centrist Democratic position. And it does work from time to time.

Why? Death by AR is usually swift. That’s why it’s a weapon of war. Why not prolong the agony.
I don’t care if they suffer. It’s not about making them suffer. It’s about making them disappear.
Most any ammosexual will tell you assault weapons are meant to wound, not kill. Small caliber, high velocity rounds, and all that. The philosophy is to make taking care of wounded a burden for the other side rather than blasting them to bits. And contrary to movies, these wounds can be horrific. To the point that I wonder how quickly minds wound change if photo documentation of the aftermath of a school shooting were to be made public. Many of these kids did not die quick, peaceful deaths. I’m sure there was drawn out terror and suffering that is not easily conceived through the printed word of the ordeal.
It’s not appropriate to wish someone dead. Therefore I limit myself to just hoping they blow off their trigger finger.

Got my first one after the very first restaurant review I ever wrote for TNJ. Restaurateur threatened to kill me, my wife, my kids and my dog. I told him I didn’t have a dog.
I’m not threatening to kill them, I just want them dead. This is some kind of silly taboo, akin to “don’t speak ill of the dead.”
What you mean is that you’re uncomfortable with it. People wish other people dead every day and nothing comes of it. They also wish they’d win the lottery, and nothing comes of that, either.
Wishes are only granted in fairy tales.

I really hope if the J6 committee or AG Garland decide to prosecute trump they wait till after the mid terms. i worry if they do try to they will martyr him and even those repubes who think what he did was wrong will be turned by the rest of the trumpanzees and think its a political hit job and everyone running under his platform will benefit

Speaking of primaries … We have early voting this year in the primary and general elections. There will be multiple locations available for about 10 days with machine voting and ample hours of availability. I have been a poll worker for many years, and I can remember primaries where we were lucky if there was one voter per hour. Trying to stay awake was key, and it was imperative to bring snacks, puzzles and reading materials. (Do not even ask me about school board elections: usually if you got 5 or 10 friends to vote you could win.) Even without early voting, these elections are very costly, with many paid poll workers, preparation of the polling sites, training, and all the logistics of moving and security for the voting machines. The sub-10% turnouts are absolutely criminal. As is the general complete lack of awareness by voters of what districts they live in and who their representatives are.
