Chris Coons Mum on GOP Senator’s Violent, Unhinged IRS Claims

Filed in National by on August 18, 2022

Always quick to praise his GOP friends, Chris Coons has no comment on his buddy, Chuck Grassley’s, claim that IRA strike forces armed with AR’s will soon be knocking down doors of small businesses.

IOWA — US Senator Charles Grassley on Thursday warned Iowans and a national TV audience that U.S. government strike forces armed with rifles could soon be targeting small business owners. The comments have many, including Grassley’s opponent in the November election, asking questions.

In the appearance on FOX News on Thursday morning, Grassley offered a dire warning to viewers over a spending plan in Congress that would include funding for 87,000 IRS employees over the next decade. The Treasury Department has said those thousands of jobs would be spread across the agency, including an increase in IT employees and replacing retiring employees. Grassley, though, says he worries of a more sinister intent.

“Are they going to have a strike force that goes in with AK-15s (sic) already loaded ready to shoot some small business person in Iowa with these? Because I think they are going after middle class and small business people because basically they think anyone that has pass-through income is a crook and they aren’t paying their fair share and we’re going to go after them,” Grassley said in the interview.

Coons is probably just keeping his powder dry in order to work some bipartisanship magic sometime in the future.

I don’t get how Coons thinks his mewling, obsequious praise of his GOP buddies is getting him anywhere.

But now that I think about it, maybe lavishing obsequious praise on his various GOP “doms” is the point of his creepy kink-fest.

In the world of politics the elected officials, many of whom dedicate themselves entirely to self-preservation, know these truths to be self-evident:
      1) Acquiescence translates to approval.
      2) Apathy sends a (sometimes not so) subliminal message of support
      3) Failure to criticize, question or demand an explanation demands a forfeiture of their own principles.
All of the above show a lack of conscience and/or moral compass and only serve TWO PURPOSES–“political self-preservation” and hefty campaign contributions.
Beware of the soulless, corporatist Democrats who misread that reflection in their mirrors as that of an honor-bound public servant.
At least the Republican scum are honest enough to put their spineless, splinters of self-respect on the record as mealy-mouthed purveyors and supporters of lunacy to get the votes of their cult-like psychos.
Perhaps top of the ticket leaders in Delaware have all been branded with the letter “C” as the first letter in their surname (or so it might seem). Unfortunately their are plenty of letters left in the alphabet for up and coming Delaware Way compromisers and corporate whores.

P.S. Don’t privatize Medicare Governor Carney!!!

IRA or IRS? Wtf is this article supposed to accomplish? Why are you dragging Coons into this? Why not Carper? Why not just write an article about Grassley? This periodical is a joke.

    • RE Vanella says:

      Lol.

    • Alby says:

      “Why not Carper?”

I don’t mean to speak for Jason, but Carper isn’t the one who makes a fetish of getting along with fascists. He might pretend they’re not fascist, but he doesn’t go on Fox News to boast about how bipartisan he is.

Also, too, Carper is 75 years old and looks 10 years older. He intends to run for re-election, but it’s going to be more of a shamble than a run. Why waste pixels on a dead man doddering?

Coons, on the other hand, is a nasty little weasel who intends to occupy that seat until we throw him out. Since there’s no chance of Republicans doing so, it’s up to us.

      • RE Vanella says:

        No lies detected

      • puck says:

Carper hugged Jeff Sessions. That’s more bipartisan fetish than I care to see.

Carper’s comm is ritually loaded with “bipartisan,” but it’s true Coons has him beat in that department.

Both our Senators would be happiest to have an R House that never sends them any progressive legislation.
