Trump gets all of these special rules which get normalized and adjudicated by right wing judges up to and concluding the Supreme Court. (Special rules, incidentally, that all media outlets seem to honor.)
When this, or some other case reaches the Supreme Court, there is literally nothing stopping Coney Barrett, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, Alito, Thomas, and Roberts from just installing Trump as President.
I’m sure Chris Coons and the NYT editorial board will express grave concerns.

Remember when the 95 capping effort seemed DOA? Now it’s back in the news and there is more energy behind it. It’s no accident.
