Beer Hall Putsch begins

Adolf Hitler, president of the far-right Nazi Party, launches the Beer Hall Putsch, his first attempt at seizing control of the German government.

Not 1914, but this week

PRISTINA, Nov 7 (Reuters) – Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti accused Belgrade of trying to destabilise Kosovo by supporting Serbs who work as police officers and in the public sector quitting over Pristina’s order to use Kosovo vehicle licence plates not those issued by Serbia.

The long-running licence plate dispute has stoked tensions between Serbia and its former province of Kosovo, which gained independence in 2008 and is home to a Serb minority in the north that is backed by Belgrade.

Voted yesterday, straight D ticket. There are some Dems I don’t like, but Republicans have made the choice easy.

Monday’s #1.9 billion Powerball drawing has been delayed citing unspecified “security protocols.” That’s a lot of money. Write your own conspiracy theory.

Speaking of waste of money – i was in acme last night and a woman was trying to buy tix with her credit card. $50 worth. Uh, if you cant afford cash (which you have to use) you really shouldnt be wasting your money.

BTW, anyone know where danny ocean is with all this going on?

      • SussexWatcher says:

Some people use cards like cash and just pay it off every month. Rewards and stuff.

Danny Ocean is dead, per the Bullock-Blanchett spinoff.

Over the past few days, conservatives thrilled to Elon Musk’s attempts to make Twitter’s content-moderation policies more friendly to the Republican Party, then agonized as a slew of corporations — fearing the site would no longer provide a congenial environment — withdrew advertising. In retaliation, a series of leading Republicans threatened to punish those firms. Advertisers leaving Twitter “are begging to sit in front of a House panel next year to discuss their company’s participation in leftist corporate extortion,” warned Josh Holmes, a lobbyist and adviser to Mitch McConnell. “Major corporate advertisers ought to think twice before entering the political arena,” added Senator Tom Cotton. Mike Davis, a conservative activist, proposed that an offending firm “should plan for intense congressional oversight in January, when Republicans reclaim the House and Senate.”

I voted a straight ticket as well, I always do. No issues, but then again this isn’t Florida, Texas or Arizona. When Trump bites the big one party my house, same for Musk. He may well be a mad scientist that saw the future, but he’s also an asshole for the ages.

    From Reuters:

Republicans favored by polls and betting markets to win control of the House of Representatives and possibly the Senate. With Democrat Joe Biden in the White House, that potential result would lead to a split government, an outcome seen as broadly favorable to markets over the long term.

But a surprise victory by the Democrats could throw the markets for a loop, potentially bringing to the fore concerns about tech-sector regulation as well as budget spending that could buoy already-high inflation…

I’m rooting for markets to be thrown into a loop.

One thing we can count on though – if Dems retain Congress, the Fed rate hikes will continue until a Republican is in the White House.

I think had Russ had Lisa/Tom down here 3 weeks sooner, it would be a slam dunk for Russ. So many Pete/Steve signs on yards together.

Russ had an up hill battle due to how well-liked Smyk is down here as a person. I will admit, this was a personally difficult vote to cast.

Bottom line, I don’t believe Smyk will protect LGBTQ+ or Women’s rights…but his family is amazing & supportive of so much in our community.

This isn’t Delaware in 2006. State Senators now deal with complex & major policy – and only will do it more so as nationalism/state-ism takes more of a grip. Every seat counts, and while I am moderate – I am a Democrat & there’s too much to lose. There’s no more bullshit of “That’s a national issue, and I am here to worry about. playgrounds & potholes.”

I went to Reho Fire Hall at 3pm & was chatting with a few friends outside and easily saw 30-40 people go in during those 20 mins…which seems like a pretty good clip.
