Don’t Be a Dick – Support the Call
I’m going to spring for the $50.00 ticket because it is a great investment, and because I turn into a pumpkin if I am on the other side of the canal after 10:00pm. The “meet and greet with the Delaware Call team” is a nice bonus I suppose, but not my main thing.
[He protests too much, I think. He is really into the meet and great part.]
Shut-up, voice in my head.
[No. You shut up].
Anyway, don’t be a dick. Celebrate the recent wins and plot the downfall of the corrupt gerontocracy.
On Wednesday, November 16th at the famous Wilmington jazz club Nomad Bar, the Call will be hosting an evening of live local music to support our independent journalism project.

Please consider. You’d be supporting great journalism like this by Jordan Howell. Just dropped this morning.

Exactly. The meet and great is very much off my radar screen. It is completely an afterthought. 100%
Just read that DelawareCall peice by Jordan Howell and marvel at how cheap it is to buy off Democratic legislators.
“Newcomer Rep. Nnamdi Chukwuocha, whose vote against SB101 surprised many Delaware Democrats, received $900.”
Nine hundred bucks.
That we know of.
I will check in on the Call every other day, but it seems hit or miss with regard to ongoing coverage. Whatever happened with the young lady who was, by all accounts, assaulted by the cop at a football game? This was a big story and its been months without an update. I’m not opposed to kicking in a few bucks but I wish I wasn’t left hanging without any resolution.
Good critique. We’re on a very worn shoe-string, but you’re right. I wish we could report like that. I’m actually frustrated by this, if I’m honest.
I’m going to follow up on Jerrina’s situation. Talk to Rae Krantz who wrote the original story.
Not for nothing, but Rae has two kids, a full time gig, works field for WFP candidates and issue campaigns, and writes stories for the Call on a volunteer basis. She did like a 5 part series on food justice and urban gardens in her spare time.
I definitely know we could do much more. Sincerely.
Jordan crushed that DAR money story today. Worked it for 2 months, for free.
I can tell you this. Plans are afoot. Fun projects. We’re trying to do it totally independently and it’s tricky.
You can meet Rae Krantz and talk to her about this at the Nomad event. She’s pretty cool. So. Jason said how to do it.
Also shout out to Andrew Galvin. Huge help. Who will also be in the house Weds. &c…
Maybe remind folks that you guys have a monthly support option. I will be on the Emerald Isle this week but my recurring contribution will be there. We need to build a solid base.
