Will she recuse herself?  The Federalist Society magic 8 Ball says, “We didn’t put you there to recuse yourself.”

Amy Coney Barrett urged to step away from gay rights case because of faith affiliation

Former members of Amy Coney Barrett’s secretive faith group, the People of Praise, are calling on the US supreme court justice to recuse herself from an upcoming case involving gay rights, saying Barrett’s continued affiliation with the Christian group means she has participated in discriminatory policies against LGBTQ+ people.

The former members are part of a network of “survivors” of the controversial charismatic group who say Barrett’s “lifelong and continued” membership in the People of Praise make her too biased to fairly adjudicate an upcoming case that will decide whether private business owners have a right to decline services to potential clients based on their sexual orientation.

I’m always amazed when rich white people get actual jail time.

Reality TV Tax Cheats  Sentenced for Bank Fraud, Tax Evasion

Reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley were sentenced Monday to lengthy prison terms after being convicted earlier this year on charges including bank fraud and tax evasion.

U.S. District Judge Eleanor Ross in Atlanta gave Todd Chrisley 12 years in prison plus 16 months of probation, while Julie Chrisley got seven years behind bars and 16 months of probation, news outlets reported.

The Chrisleys gained fame with their show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which follows their tight-knit, boisterous family. Federal prosecutors said the couple engaged in an extensive bank fraud scheme and then hid their wealth from tax authorities while flaunting their lavish lifestyle.

If you’ve ever accidentally watched even a minute of the show “Chrisley Knows Best,”  you know how much these a-holes deserve prison time.

Let’s not politicize this overtly political act of domestic terrorism. M’kay?

World’s Shittiest Take on Colorado Springs Domestic Terror Attack

Americans are once again reeling in the face of unspeakable tragedy, after a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs gay bar left five dead and at least 25 injured. But while we collectively mourn, some cynical actors on the Left are grotesquely exploiting this unspeakable horror to take partisan cheap shots.

Because the shooting occurred at a gay bar, some have leapt to assume that it was a targeted anti-gay hate crime. They went on to then cast blame on Republicans for supposedly fomenting anti-LGBT sentiment—saying this makes them culpable in the shooting.

Dan Gaffney, host on 105 FM had nothing but snark for the crime in Colorado, calling out the “Democratic” District Attorney for not putting the shooter on a “no gun” list after alleged threatening to blow up his mother 17 months ago. Conspiracy theories travel much faster than the truth of that matter, which must wait for facts to emerge.

The reason is that county calls themselves a red flag law sanctuary and goes against the states laws about red flag laws.

  2. Paul says:

On this day in 1963 President John F Kennedy was removed from this world by three shots from a long gun (and who knows what else, if anything) in Dallas, Texas. I still miss his stirring words.

  3. bamboozer says:

Me too! I’m always amazed when rich white people actually go to jail, it’s easy to keep track of as it rarely happens. Amy Coney Barrett will not recuse, they never do as Clarence Thomas has showed. Perhaps it’s part of the pretense that the court is impartial, non political and above the fray of politics. Now made even more ridiculous that it seems Alito spilled the beans in advance on the hated Hobby Lobby decision and doubtless others.

REV – Thoughts on the World Cup in Qatar — sports and politics? (I’m not being snarky.)

I’m new to Delaware talk radio. What is anyone’s take on WDEL-FM! Any progressive stations at all?

Awarded based on bribes to an authoritarian monarchy.

~6,500 slaves died (that we know of) from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and India. Countless more Kenyans, Filipinos and who knows who else.

If two men kiss publically they’ll be deported or executed.

No beer in the grounds. Playing at Thanksgiving.

    Trash tournament. Absolute embarrassment.

I could give you a match report from matches from Mexico 1986 from memory. I don’t lke football. I love it. It’s part of me.

This is the first time I’ve felt zero anticipation in WC build up. No excitement. Did watch USMNT yesterday. And I’ll follow the tournament. Am I invested at all? Nah.

  7. nathan arizona says:

Thanks, Rev. Sounds about right to me, except I won’t follow it at all. If I were there I’d need the beer. Hopelessly fixated on the sports I grew up with.

    • RE Vanella says:

I mean FIFA held the 1978 Finals in Argentina during a fascist dictatorship that came to power via military coup. So we really should expect nothing less.

      • Alby says:

Sportswashing has been going on for a long time. The second World Cup was held in 1934 in Mussolini’s Italy. Russia in 2018.

And one of the finalists for the 2030 World Cup is Saudi Arabia (in tandem with Egypt and Greece).

John Oliver blistered FIFA over this for an entire show. Well worth the time.

As Al probably knows, the biggest club in France, Paris Saint Germaine (PSG), which boasts greats like Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, are owned by a Qatari sheikh.

Paris must have been fun last night. Huge win versus Aussies.

    • Alby says:

I’m boycotting, but my Parisian friends were happy. They don’t have high hopes for the tournament, though. Too many injuries, especially now that Benzema is hurt.
