Drummer Warren Grant may well be the best drummer I’ve ever brought to the Hall. Oh, and this time, Albert is bringing perhaps the most in-demand bass player in the entire blues-rock genre. You tell me if you think he’s any good:

Yo, ‘Boozer, if you haven’t been to the Gild Hall before, it’s a great place for a show. We max out at around 270 for a seated show like this.
As the producer, I might EVEN (don’t tell anybody) be able to ply you with a beverage, adult or otherwise, of your choice. I’d love to see you there.
I just bought tickets to an upcoming show. Won’t say which one because it will sell out.

Trivia. In the lobby of the Gild Hall there’s a photograph of Leadbelly leading a music class there in like 1952. Legit.
And there can sometimes be house drinks. I can personally vouch. That’s all I’ll say.

Post script. Al is going to be in football party centrale because les bleus are looking in top form.
The Leadbelly picture is from 1947 from a performance there. I think he died about a year later. All the so-called ‘radical’ folkies performed here.
