This guy still thinks “The Delaware Way” is a great thing that needs to be revived
Stuart Comstock-Gay is president and CEO of the Delaware Community Foundation and is really confused about why Democrats are not working with the unhinged lunatics who now call themselves Republicans.
When you call for compromise and understanding while utterly ignoring where the modern DEGOP is politically, how the DEGOP is actively poisoning the well of civic discourse, you can go fuck yourself Stuart.
The dialectic in Delaware is now between the corporate and the progressive wings of the Democratic party. DEGOP has taken itself out of the mix by its embrace of bigotry and crank economic and social theories.
Precisely WHICH Republicans does this guy think D’s should partner with?
Nostalgia for this sort of centrism is merely nostalgia. Yet, our entire congressional delegation and our governor wallow in this extinct vestige of the past.
That must change–starting in 2024.
Yes friends, life during political warfare goes on, and as noted “Centrism” is an antique mindset whose time has past, a pathetic part of hated ” Delaware Way”. You cannot be friends when the other party has declared war and deems you to be the enemy. All that’s left to do is to fight, fight the far right and the Fascists that have a firm grip on the Republican party. As noted Carper and Coons live in a dream world of bipartisanship and “my good friends in the Republican party”. As for the triple named Stuart Comstock Gay my first thought who paid him and how much.
I love the way Comstock-Gay waves off the few bad apples that don’t need to be included when reviving the Delaware Way.
” This isn’t to say we accept or celebrate those who foment outright lies – there’s way too much intentional falsehood around, and we still need to fight that. “
Uh…Well…that’s the whole party Bro, so good luck brining Bill Roth and Mike Castle back from the dead.
The Delaware Way is alive and active. I saw it last night when DNREC bought forth a corporate climate to build a restaurant in Cape Henlopen State Park on the dune where the national bird count/concentrated easter flyways occurs. It sickens me how DNREC stands back and ignores the deforestation of coastal sussex county
The Delaware way is a live and well at DNREC as I witnessed last night at the hearing where DNREC bought forth it’s corporate client with a 25 year contract to build a restaurant on the dunes of Cape Henlopen state park next to Hawk Watch. Hawk Watch is where the national bird survey takes place and one of the most concentrated flyways in the world. Makes me ill. And DNREC sits back and allows the deforestation of coastal Sussex on behalf of their developer clients
The headline on wdel.com is “DNREC nixes plans to build restaurant inside Cape Henlopen State Park.” I didn’t read that closely, did it somehow get approved?

You’re correct. It was withdrawn.
Also, mouse: DNREC does not have control over development. That blame goes to the counties and municipalities.
The vanguard of the Delaware Bolsheviks . . . . . ahem Progressive movement is peeved by a simple call for civility by a man who has dedicated much of his life to actually serving the greater good. I’m shocked!!!
Civility is a tool of the ruling class. Fuck this guy, if he can’t see what the GOP is up to.
Bolsheviks? Wow, you’re clever! Very funny too!
