Will Donald Trump be brought to justice in 2023? If so, on which grounds? Would it be for his treasonous role in the Jan. 6 failed coup? His many apparent tax crimes? Michael Smerconish, the reasonable-conservative pundit, says indictment is most likely in the stolen-documents case because special counsel Jack Smith is a bulldog whose findings in the open-and-shut case will force AG Merrick Garland to act.

According to a subscriber-only article in the News Journal, talk of Biden locating the headquarters for his re-election campaign in Wilmington has caused some consternation among the political peon class. The people who staff political campaigns are mostly young and single, and they’re bummed about the city’s excuse for nightlife.

One Democratic aide anonymously quoted by Politico said, “The general vibe is, ‘Please let it not be in Wilmington.’ People would be really excited about D.C., relatively excited about Philadelphia, and people would be really disappointed if it were in Wilmington.”

Something to keep in mind when planning your next vacation: Half the states now allow people to carry handguns without a permit, up from two states in 2010.

Tough times for the marijuana industry: The pandemic-induced consumption boom has eased, causing prices for legal weed to drop and squeezing small operators. Hey, it turns out it works just like other farming!

Republicans who freak out over early voting are, unsurprisingly, all worked up about nothing. New data shows that neither side gains an edge when early voting is allowed.

That’s enough for a new year. The floor’s yours.

Also found it interesting, though not surprising , that Bolsonaro fled to Florida, no doubt to hob nob with his fellow Fascists in that blighted state. Also surprised Bolsonaro didn’t try to pull a Jan.6th style coup, suspect the military told him no.

I’m so old I remember when the shah was admitted, to the detriment of all.

I mean, the West overthrew Mosaddegh and installed the Shah. So it’s only fair, I guess, we admitted him. Lol.

I love when people get mad when the Ayatollah says Death to America at Friday prayers.

For the record: Bolsonaro did attempt a coup using the Federal Highway Police, among other things, to try to suppress the vote on election day.

I read this last week through another medium, but through the Financial Times (subscribe only, please don’t subscribe) one of the co-founders of Home Depot is ranting about the dangers he fears to the economic order, as he’s “worried about capitalism.”

Thanks to “socialism”, he says, “nobody works. Nobody gives a damn. ‘Just give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work — I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid.’”
