Pssst…. Want to know why Carney is REALLY attacking Delaware pensioners?

Filed in National by on March 17, 2023

If state offers pay, benefits and medical insurance that is equal or better than what is offered on the so-called “open market”, the state is undermining the ability of corporations to exploit workers.

That’s why the pay is miserly and the once decent benefit packages are being torn down.  The state can only help corporate oligarchs in two ways: directly and indirectly.   And the Carney administration is busy doing both.

For more on this, listen to Highlands Bunker Episode 233 “Fetters Burst Asunder” with Marxist scholar, Steve Paxton, on his newest book “How Capitalism Ends – History, Ideology and Progress.”

No one pays enough to afford a McMansion here, let along the Benz that goes with it. The state offers low expectations, lots of holidays, low wages (like everywhere else) and to some extent employment security. But now under attack as it has been since I moved here in 1974. Throw whatever is at hand but I’d love a state job.

Precisely my point. But you left out the pension, which is not a small perk.

Anecdotally I know of people with family wealth derived from beach homes that were bought from state salaries and pensions. Now regular families can’t afford a week at the beach, unless maybe a rental some drive from the actual beach.
