Republicans Use Federal Judiciary to Enact National Abortion Ban

Filed in National by on April 7, 2023

Heck of a job, Coons.

The ruling is stayed for a week, so nothing changes now. But Kacsmaryk is absolutely prepared to pull mifepristone off the market. He also says that mailing medication abortion is a federal crime. Just a totally off-the-walls opinion. fingfx.thomsonreuters.com/gfx/legaldocs/

If I put on this pussy hat, Delaware will forget that I helped Trump stack the Federal Judiciary with MAGA zealots

As usual Texas makes the country worse.

At the time Coons didn’t give a fuck about stacking the Federal Judiciary with MAGA nuts. But I suppose he’ll have statement full of bluster and outrage soon.

The impact on women’s healthcare will be widely felt. Until this is overturned , life begins at conception in the United States. That’s what’s they’ve been working toward all this time. There is no “middle ground” or compromise acceptable to these zealots.

Buried in the mifepristone opinion is a recognition of constitutional fetal personhood, i.e., that the constitution requires providing zygotes with equal protection.

The Supreme Court did not say that in Dobbs. The judge makes it up based on an amicus brief filed in Dobbs.

Kacsmaryk quickly became the go to rubber stamp for the far right, now they flock from across the country to get into his courtroom. I see him as the culmination of a judge as an unabashed culture warrior, out to roll back the clock whether we like it or not. My goal is to see Kacsmaryk, and the world traveler we call Clarence Thomas, held to account and controlled by a rigid code of conduct, just like all the rest. Let it end here, or see it provoke “an armed response”.

    • Yep. The group that filed the complaint incorporated in Amarillo precisely so that they could bring the case before Kacsmaryk. And this was not a one-off.

      • Jason330 says:

Kacsmaryk didn’t want the news to adversely influence the MAGAts chances in Wisconsin judicial race. He needn’t have worried.
