Trump’s favorability rating collapses per ABC News/IPSOS polling
There is no way to deny it. Trump being brought to justice is a boon for Joe Biden. Trump’s legal woes have increased his popularity among GOP primary voters, but devastated his favorability among voters in general.
But… But… I must have read a dozen claims that the indictment would strengthen Trump as the Republicans gathered around their lord and master. Seems that was the usual wishful thinking, mixed with outright lies, and that it’s going , wait for it, Just Like Watergate! I realize Trump’s base is battle hardened to deflect the truth and the real world but suspected this would be the end of Trump as the King Of The Teflon Coat.
Yeah. The “this will only strengthen Trump” people were either wishful thinking Republicans or Stockholm syndrome Democrats. Probably 50/50.
I really love the media’s pack mentality though. Now that “this will only strengthen Trump” is a dead storyline, I’ll bet they all take off after “this is Trump’s last gasp” storylines like a pack of hounds taking off after an escapee from a Mississippi chain game.
