Fox To Pay For Dominion Settlement With–Higher Cable Fees?  If they can get away with it, yes:

These fees are the majority of revenue for Fox, more even than advertising, and they are significantly higher than those charged by the network’s competitors. Fox has been able to raise prices and charge disproportionately high rates due to its history of deceptive and aggressive negotiating tactics during contract renewal talks with providers.

During what would have been the Dominion trial, Fox News is actively renewing, or gearing up to renew, its contracts with at least three major cable providers — a potentially even bigger financial stake than the case. These three renewals alone, even without increases, would be worth nearly $1 billion annually to Fox.

Submitted to you just in case you’re considering cutting the cord.

Tables Turned On Tennessee Three Tormentor.  Delicious:

A member of GOP leadership in the Tennessee House of Representatives was recently found guilty of sexually harassing at least one legislative intern, likely two, by an ethics subcommittee acting in secret, NewsChannel 5 Investigates has learned.

About six hours after being confronted by NewsChannel 5 Investigates, Rep. Scotty Campbell gave up his seat in the Tennessee General Assembly.

Until now, Campbell, who served as vice chair of the House Republican Caucus and who recently voted to expel three Democrats who engaged in a gun violence protest on the House floor, had suffered no previous consequences as a result of his actions.

Despite accusations of sometimes extremely vulgar comments and other inappropriate advances, Republicans did not remove the 39-year-old East Tennessee lawmaker from his leadership position nor from his committee assignments.

But taxpayers are paying for his actions.

NewsChannel 5 has learned that potentially thousands of dollars have been spent to protect one victim, relocating her from the downtown apartment building where she and Campbell both had apartments, shipping her furniture back home in another part of the state and placing her in a downtown hotel for the remainder of her internship.

Hmmm, does this remind you of a certain disgraced ex-Delaware legislator?:

A self-described promoter, he gained national attention earlier this year when, during debate over a bill banning drag shows in public places, he asked if that legislation would also prohibit a “bra-and-panties match” by wrestlers at a county fair.

Jan. 6 Defendant Opens Fire On Cops. Lives:

A Jan. 6 defendant opened fire on cops who had been sent to check on him hours after he was told he’d been charged with participating in the storming of the Capitol, the Department of Justice said in a news release.

Nathan Donald Pelham, 40, of Greenville, Texas, was taken into custody after a standoff that lasted nearly three hours. He was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm in connection with the April 12 incident.

No injuries were reported in connection with the shootings.

The previous day he had been charged with four misdemeanor counts in connection with the attack on the Capitol. An FBI agent told him of the charges hours before the shooting and told him he had been given until April 17 to surrender.

By Contrast:

On Wednesday the DeKalb County Medical examiner released the autopsy results for Manuel Paez Terán, the 26-year-old protester who was killed by a Georgia state trooper during a January 18 raid of campsites set up to stop the construction of the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center often dubbed “Cop City.”

The autopsy revealed, according to reporting from Fox 5 Atlanta, that Terán suffered at least 57 gunshot wounds and did not have gunpowder residue on their hands. This calls into question the cops’ initial explanation, that Terán shot first. For forensic scientists, gunpowder residue on a person’s hands indicates that the person “recently discharged a firearm, handled a firearm or an object with gunshot residue on its surface, or was in close proximity to a firearm when it was discharged.”

On the day of Terán’s death, seven other activists were charged with domestic terrorism. Now, upwards of 40 people affiliated with the Stop Cop City movement have been charged with domestic terrorism in what legal observers have called a “judicial pogrom” against opponents of Cop City.)

Uh, we know who committed domestic terrorism.  Got away with murder.  Again.

More Stuff The Anti-Abortion Judge Didn’t Reveal.  Stuff he was required to reveal.  Gotta ask–how the fuck didn’t the D senators uncover this?  Didn’t they yet know how to use the internets?:

The federal judge who suspended the Food and Drug Administration’s approval of an abortion pill failed to disclose two interviews on a Christian radio show where he discussed his extremist views on contraception and gay rights, CNN reported Thursday.

U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee, invalidated the FDA’s approval of mifepristone earlier this month, using the language of anti-abortion activists in his ruling. He was confirmed to a lifetime appointment in 2019 by the Senate and was required at the time to submit a detailed account of his previous writings and public appearances.

But CNN uncovered two appearances on a radio show called “Chosen Generation” from 2014 while he was working as deputy general counsel at a religious liberty advocacy group called First Liberty Institute. In one interview from February 2014, Kacsmaryk was asked about the “homosexual agenda,” agreeing with the host that those opposed to same-sex marriage could be viewed as “hostile” enemies of the federal government and saying the nation had adopted “very permissive” policies on contraception.

In another appearance that July, he said religious organizations could face difficulty for opposing “the new sexual orthodoxy” on gay rights.

Dianne Feinstein wasn’t up to the task then.  Like Carper, she hasn’t gotten any sharper in the intervening years.  BTW, the Supreme Court will likely rule today on whether Kaczmaryk’s order will stand.  I have but one prediction:  Clarence Thomas will not recuse himself.

Corruption Wilmington Style.  Zanthia Oliver apologizes for voting to funnel yet another $200K to her  brother.  Yep.  Stormin’ Norman. Again.  A frequent diner at the public trough. $200K to ‘Our Youth, Inc.’.  Does this seem like an agency that has their shit together? (cut-and-pasted, the errors are not mine):

OUR YOUTH, INC. employes part-time staff who bring a diverse collection of education, community based skills, experiences – but their main thrive is to give each participant a total mentoring, counseling and cultural lesson.

It is a training firm specializing in innovative programs for ‘hard to reach’ youth and teen populations. Based in New Castle County, Delaware, OUR YOUTH, INC. provides skills building workshops, training in outreach and communication, and program development for successful outcomes specifically geared toward
youth and teens.

OUR YOUTH, INC. conducts seminars, focus groups, retreats, as well as ongoing program delivery. Specializing in a multifaceted variety of social, health and educational pro-grams, OUR YOUTH, INC. focuses on issuesconfronting teens today such as teen pregnancy prevention and violence prevention.

Sounds like complete and utter bullshit to me. $200K of taxpayer-funded utter bullshit.  Granted, a mere drop in the bucket when compared to Nicole ‘No Longer Poore’s Jobs For Delaware Graduates utter bullshit, but a complete waste of money nevertheless.   Although, “Their Main Thrive” seems like a pretty righteous band name to me.

What do you want to talk about?

Cable and satellite customers should be able to opt out of FoxNews if the want to, as well as the fees…

“I want to be clear that my views on this issue have not changed,” the governor said in a statement. “And I understand there are those who share my views who will be disappointed in my decision not to veto this legislation.

“I came to this decision because I believe we’ve spent far too much time focused on this issue, when Delawareans face more serious and pressing concerns every day. It’s time to move on.”

  3. Am I the only one who’s concerned that the Supreme Court hasn’t weighed in yet on Judge Kacsmaryk’s decision? Getting ‘Friday news dump’ vibes.
