Legislation to Reduce Shootings & Gun-related Crimes Introduced in DE State Senate

Legislation to reduce shootings and other gun-related crimes in Delaware communities has been introduced in the State Senate. Senate Bill 2 is sponsored by Senate Majority Whip Elizabeth Lockman and House Majority Whip Melissa Minor-Brown and would add Delaware to a list of states that require residents to complete a firearm training course and obtain a permit before purchasing a handgun. The bill is awaiting consideration in the Senate Judiciary Committee.

On this day in history (April 24, 1967)

The “stabbed in the back in Viet Nam” narrative was  started when General William Westmoreland stated in a news conference that the enemy had “gained support in the United States that gives him hope that he can win politically that which he cannot win militarily”.

Meet the elite couples who want to overpopulate the planet with their elite babies

The Telegraph has an absolutely horrifying piece entitled, and how we all wish we were joking about this, “Meet the ‘elite’ couples breeding to save mankind.” Yes, it is a real thing. The Telegraph introduces us mostly to Simone and Malcolm Collins, “two 30-something American entrepreneurs turned philosophers” who are among the de facto leaders of the “pronatalism” movement that has taken wealthy Silicon Valley assholes by storm. Pronatalism is a “philosophy” that claims humanity is doomed if the worldwide human population falls off by any appreciable extent, and therefore everybody (not everybody) has to get to work pumping out babies (with certain genetic profiles) in order to save us from the literal collapse of human civilization.

Crooks Continue Converting Clipped Catalytic Converters to Cash

New Castle County Police are alerting the public to an ongoing rash of catalytic converter thefts going on across the area.

County Police spokesman Corporal Michael McNasby said unfortunately it doesn’t take too much mechanical know how to remove the device.

“You’d think you’d have to be some sort of mechanic or have some type of skill, but in this case it’s really not,” said McNasby, “it can be stolen in seconds with just two cuts or three cuts with a reciprocating saw.”

Police said as the value of precious metals remains high, so does the number of thefts of these devices.

“They’re being scrapped at yards or resold, I think they go for $150 or $200 at a scrapyard,” said McNasby, “and then also they’re trying to get those elements out of the inside of that device as well.”

McNasby said it will be pretty obvious if you’ve been victimized.

“The vehicle usually will start but you’ll hear a very loud sound coming from the muffler and the vehicle will be very sluggish.”

        No, #ReformLEOBOR.

#RepealLEOBOR is about as clueless a slogan as #DefundThePolice. Only a handful of insiders understand the real meaning of it.

Of course LEOs should have labor rights, which are somewhat unique due to the nature of the job. But police labor rights do NOT include unlimited use of force, privacy and impunity for crimes, or overpolicing of POC.

Police reform is needed, and then those police who choose not to be reformed should be fired.

        • Jean says:

No labor rights for LEOs. Chiefs should be able to fire any cop, at any time, without cause. Chiefs should be accountable to legislators for all hiring/firing actions. Nothing will clean house faster than at will employment, and a shape-up-or-ship-out culture with a chain of command that isn’t impeded by the fop union racket. I don’t think we can conflate repeal LEOBOR with defund the police

        • RE Vanella says:

Sure, bud. That’s why 35 states don’t even have a LEOBOR.

I said repeal because I meant repeal.

Maryland literally repealed theirs 2 years ago dummy. Jfc

Oh, one other thing today. This morning we released a special Monday episode (recorded last week) with Chancery Daily recapping the Fox v Dominion settlement and potential next moves w.r.t. Fox defamation.

  2. Jean says:

Nothing wrong with permit-to purchase, but if someone can’t be trusted with a firearm and fails a background check, maybe they shouldn’t be walking around society int the first place. At the very least a comprehensive searchable database of everyone prohibited from gun ownership (state and federal) should be available to the public.

    • Jean says:

Maybe not the 6 week show trial we hoped for, but if this breaks up the fox juggernaut it might have the same effect

Frees him up to run for office. He could probably tip the Senate. And then there are no penalties for lying.

      • Jean says:

I’ve heard the “tucker for prez” angle but I’d like to see him speak outside of a friendly studio

  3. Doug says:

I’m feeling much safer now that there is talk of a permit to purchase. Lol
