Did anyone else get an odd survey about Tom Sheriden?

Filed in National by on July 16, 2023

Yesterday I got a Luce research text with a link that opened up a survey asking a lot of questions about a guy I never heard of named Tom Sheriden and Sheriden’s possible run for congress(?)

Nope, and yet feel I’ve missed nothing. Lost me at “Summer Spirituality”, much prefer a blast of Hail Satan! in the best death metal voice you can muster.

    • bamboozer says:

Good chance, the age of disinformation goes on even as AI stands ready to throw several tons of lies on the fire.

  2. Well, he and Bono singlehandedly faced down the AIDS epidemic, so there’s that…

  3. In fairness, his bio is impressive, and he appears to be a strong advocate for ‘good causes’.

Hardly anybody knows him, though…and our Congressional seat is the LAST thing I’d want him to run for.

    • SussexWorker says:

His bio IS strong and he has a very progressive advocacy record IN DC! He has been a major fundraiser for Chris Coons. Though he has been registered to vote in Delaware and has a residence in Lewes, he has had close to zero involvement in the community. He was thinking of running for Congress the last time the seat opened up, Seems he is feeling the water temperature again. Hard to see how he would keep the nomination from Sarah McBride- even in Sussex.

      • Jason330 says:

Not surprised. The push polling aspect was pretty obviously directed at Dems who think compromising with republicans is a top priority.

  4. ‘(M)ajor fundraiser for Chris Coons’? Hard pass.

  5. Alby says:

No money, no name recognition, no history of living in Delaware. Vanity project.

  6. Sams says:

Just saw on social media looks Eugene young is Gona run

There will be no coronation of Sarah McBride after all

  7. The MoMo says:

I know several folks who received this, all are or have recently been registered independent. With Colleen this week and Eugene the next, I don’t know why he would waste money on this poll now. Undoubtedly he will just get back some numbers equal to name ID, whereas a month from now more folks would have heard about the other candidates to actually respond with insight/accuracy. That tells me he’s got terrible consultants and a lot of money to blow…
I wonder what candidate in Delaware history ranks #1 for most money spent to earn the least votes. Any ideas?
