Dem Party primaries are good, except the ones I don’t like. They are bad.

Filed in National by on July 17, 2023

I don’t think people should get out of the way for other people.  Since the Democratic Party is the only remaining statewide party in Delaware, the primary IS the election.  So have it out.  Tell us the “democratic approach” to holding the office you want.   Get your people fired up.

Just don’t get into tearing down other candidates.  Those are the ones I don’t like.

  1. Faithful Skeptic says:

Ronald Reagan said it best: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

  2. The MoMo says:

I agree, but candidates should at least be able to say why they’re running beyond wanting the fancy job.
If a candidate can’t speak to why they’re in the race in the first place… let’s say because they’re a recent republican DINO with an antiabortion stance who is only running because they believe enough people are transphobic that they can win and their consultants agreed… then maybe don’t enter the primary.
As you’ve suggested, we’re not at risk of losing a seat to the GOP, so the reason “I believe I can win” isn’t good enough either.

Who is this in reference to?

        Colleen Davis.

Every candidate has the right to run, but they should have to answer why they want to stand in the way of the only opportunity for trans people to get any representation in Congress at a time when the republicans have targeted that community for constant attacks.

Agreed, but when you have two progressive candidates running for the same seat it would behoove them to figure it out before the primary, lest they cannibalize each other
