Dumb CW you may hear from low info voters
Everyone is not a politics news junky. And because conservative news is always on in waiting rooms, bars and barber shops, you may hear less informed people [like my brother-in-law] saying this:
Why now? It is three years later? It does seem a little like election interference, doesn’t it?
Have pity on these people. I try to take a deep breath and say:
- Investigations take time.
- These are serious crimes that need to be carefully investigated.
- If investigators find that crimes are committed they need to be taken to a trial.
- Running for President can’t be grounds for immunity.
- If Trump was innocent, he’d want his day in court to clear his name.
Surprisingly nuanced and level-headed!
Too bad my co-workers will be having none of THAT, thank you very much.
It’s always “too close to an election.”
Anyone charged with a crime should declare themselves as a candidate for President.
You can’t argue with success.
The high and mighty legal system will not cater to we mere mortals and looks upon cries of “Hurry the hell up!” with disdain. They’ll take their time, but it’s because the law is deliberately complicated and filled with ways to throw the case out that may hinge on but a single word. Wish I was kidding. The law was designed to free the rich and jail the poor. Feel free to change my mind.
