And boom goes the dynamite.

Jack Smith answered the question “Will Donald Trump ever face consequences for his life of crime?” in the affirmative, and American history has been changed forever. We just don’t know how yet, because the debris from the blast still hasn’t hit the ground. Considering that those six co-conspirators are for now unindicted, we haven’t even finished with the explosions.

John Lee Hooker released what became his signature song in 1962, backed by the musicians later known as the Funk Brothers. The single made the Top 20 on the R&B chart and snuck up to No. 60 on the Hot 100.

Hooker re-recorded it in 1992 as the title track to one of his post-comeback albums. That version hit the UK Top 20 after it was used in an advert. In the 1980 “Blues Brothers” movie he lip-synched it as a street musician playing outside Aretha Franklin’s restaurant.

I first heard this by The Animals before I learned it was a cover. The Animals studio version is good but here’s a live version from 1965: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8f62s8bGiic
