Thank You, Jason.
Jason, you are a true friend. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you and without Delaware Liberal.
You took me in as a stray immediately after Val Longhurst put an abrupt end to my 20-plus years as a legislative staffer. I can’t tell you how depressed I was at the time. You threw me a lifeline and made me a part of the merry band of bloggers we had back then near the end of 2008. I wasn’t very good at first, I cringe at some of my early posts. But with your encouragement along with support from people like Pandora, Cassandra, Donviti, Unstable Isotope, Nemski, The Geekster, X-Stryker and everybody else, I eventually found my footing.
You are a tremendously kind human being. Liking people comes easily to you. Drinking Liberally was one of the most typically-Jason things you conjured up. Along with, of course, your stint as a Human Petition. Your self-deprecation belies how great a blogger you truly are. An inclusive blogger. Oh, and you’re funny, which has always been a feature of our blog, no more so than with the trio of you, me, and Al. I’ve really enjoyed these last few years when we’ve basically been a threesome.
I lament your taste in music, but nobody’s perfect. I hope to continue to inflict music on you that is not to your liking. Your progressive ideals have driven this blog and, I hope, will continue to drive this blog. They are rooted into wanting to make life better for people.
I can only say that I am incredibly fortunate to have had you come into my life. You will always be my friend. I wish you all the best as you address the challenges that await you.
Thank you so much for everything.

A beautiful moment of earnestness in this glorious forum where snark usually reigns supreme.
