I’m not following the Hamas-Israeli conflict, but as sportswriter Hugh Keough (not Damon Runyan) observed, “The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but that is the way to bet.” An even safer bet: Palestinians in Gaza will bear the brunt of the human cost. Another sure winner: The bombings will continue until morale improves.

With the latest war gobbling up pixels, ratings are slack for the House GOP production of “Who’s the Boss?” the palace-intrigue dramedy that took over the Running D.C. Story slot from the swiftly axed “Lappy!” In our story so far, the race between Jimbo, the molester-adjacent ex-wrestler, and Steverino, the KKK-adjacent groin-shot recipient, has hit a snag: a pair of Kave-in McCarthy loyalists who swear they’ll vote for nobody else. And I do apologize for the Steve Scalise joke – that was a cheap shot that hit below the belt.

The Inquirer’s Will Bunch examines a persistent polling paradox: The Biden economy has created nearly 14 million jobs but voters still think Trump could do better. Well, “think” is probably the wrong verb.

RFK Jr. has decided the Democratic Party doesn’t deserve him, so he’s going to run for president as an independent. This is bad news for Joe Biden, because it’s going to cost him the anti-vax/anti-Trump independents, a voting bloc about equal to the number of RFK’s siblings who denounced his candidacy via Xitter. Just another triumph from the superbrain of Steve “No Mirrors, Please” Bannon.

The floor’s yours.

Yes friends, it’s another day another war in the blighted “Holy Lands”. The Republicans are taking a break from their ongoing civil war to blame Biden, as noted their base does not do “Thinking” per se. Up next attempts to hand the Israeli army mega billions, while attempting to starve aid to Ukraine. Ain’t political stupidity grand?

    “persistent polling paradox”

50 years of Republican propaganda has rendered nearly half of America incapable of acknowledging any benefit they receive from Democrats.

All my life politicians have campaigned on promises to create jobs. Now the jobs are here, but the problem now seems to be we have too much money (inflation). Or more accurately, the increased money is in the hands of the wrong people.

Corporate media won’t start talking about the obvious economic boom until there is a steep upward ramp in the DJIA.

The question should not be: which “…way to bet”, but: what should we do?

Invoke the Leahy Law which “prohibits the furnishing of assistance … to any security force unit , credibly believed to have committed a gross violation of human rights.” ?

or stop doing … voting, donating to, and canvassing for craven zionists like Biden, Coons, Carper, LBR, Sarah McBride, Eugene Young, Donald Trump, RFK Jr…..etc

  4. ‘…craven zionists’? You paint with quite the broad brush there.

I saw Rep. Wilson-Anton posted a statement yesterday about being asked by the Speaker to sign on to “I support Israel.” Her statement was thoughtful and well-reasoned, but its absurd to me that state legislators are put in a position to have to post their thoughts publicly on an issue which they cannot influence. Moreover, it’s absurd that the leader of such a body would anticipate assimilation of members to a single opinion on something so complex.

    • Especially since nothing the General Assembly could or would do would have the slightest impact on the conflict.

I believe it was in John Mearsheimer’s, The Lobby, that I read that Israel has their minions test the loyalty of US office holders this way. So to know who to target with negative ads and cultivate potential opponents. It’s insidious really.

Devastating human rights atrocities and war crimes on both sides.

          • Hamas is a terrorist organization funded by, among others, Iran. These attacks were well-planned and devastating. I’m all for wiping them out–but the Israeli response is already hitting Palestinians who had nothing to do with the attacks and likely wish they could have nothing to do with Hamas.

We’re once again being asked to leave our brains at the door and rally ’round the flag. Last time that happened, the ‘honorables’ in Dover banned the phrase ‘french fries’ from appearing in the Leg Hall cafeteria.

Hence, ‘freedom fries’ were born. They might as well have been called ‘fake news fries’.

              Dude….chill.

Palestine-Israel is not the 51st state of the union or Delaware’s 4th county and the Palestinians are not calling for you to be wiped out.
