Trump took the stand in his New York civil trial for fraud yesterday and, as was widely predicted, he did not comport himself in a professional manner. Y’all can believe what you want to believe, but I believe a country that could elect this malicious fucknugget is probably beyond redemption.

As always seems to happen, the Israel-Hamas conflict has people at each other’s throats. The State Department disagrees with the Biden administration’s hands-off-Israel policy. Slimy New Jersey Democratic power broker George Norcross got tossed out of the Eagles game for displaying a banner joining the flags of the U.S. and Israel. Jon Voight slammed his daughter, Angelina Jolie, for her social media support of Gazans, and if two generations of Hollywood weirdos can’t get along, who among us can hope to?

Today’s Mike Johnson Sure Is Weird story is about his wife, who sounds like a child when she speaks. As this woman explains, it’s called “fundie baby voice.” “The voice she’s using is trained into fundamentalist evangelical women to perpetuate the belief that their minds are childlike, sweet, always joyful, and that they never disobey their husbands.” And these people think immigrants are strange.

Have you been following this story out of California, where a consortium of billionaires intends to build a utopian city in a rural area between the Bay Area and Sacramento? After spending $800 million on 53,000 acres, the California Forever project’s backers announced they have all the land they need to move ahead with the project. I’ve seen photos, and the new city will have on advantage – unlike lots of places in California, there’s nothing there to burn.

Oh, and you won’t read about it the daily paper, but Delaware’s term-limited governor wants to be mayor of Wilmington. Does this mean his appeal is becoming more selective?

The floor’s yours.

  1. Delaware Ag Secretary Michael (No Ex-)Scuse Violated State Law; Gave Out No-Bid Contracts:

According to the Public Integrity Commission. Of course, the Public Integrity Commission can’t do anything other than issue a report. Will the AG? Will John Carney?:

“The Public Integrity Commission ruled Monday that Agriculture Secretary Michael Scuse improperly agreed to pay one of his employees more than $90,000 as part of a no-bid agreement to take care of a flock of poultry after almost 500 birds were seized in May.”

500 birds? $90 K? Those chickens laying golden eggs or something?

BTW, at least we have the AP’s Randall Chase still around to report on what I think is an important story.

This Carney administration is realllllly turning out to be corrupt as hell. Is the governor going to say anything or just pretend that it doesnt exist like he is with bhl?

    Seconded.

It’s entirely possible and to be expected.

In 2016, it was Killary, the war criminal vs. Trump, the wannabe war criminal.
A judgement call, if there ever was one.

For 2024, it’s shaping up like today’s war criminal vs. the prior war criminal.
Unless the Dems get their sh!t together and soon.

Point taken, but you’ll be able to criticize every candidate for the rest of your life on that basis. You won’t be given the opportunity to vote for anyone who wants to dismantle the American empire.

Once you get past that, there’s more to distinguish candidates. You may find those differences inconsequential but I think that’s a minority position.

We had help in 2016, Whatever happened to that fucking Muller report?
