Trump’s Latest Scam(s).  There is no end to his Barnumesque hucksterism:

Trump was met with loud boos as well as cheers at the Philadelphia Convention Center as he introduced what he called the first official Trump footwear.

The shoes, shiny gold high tops with an American flag detail on the back, are being sold as “Never Surrender High-Tops” for $399 on a new website that also sells other Trump-branded shoes and “Victory47” cologne and perfume for $99 a bottle. He’d be the 47th president if elected again.

The website says it has no connection to Trump’s campaign, though Trump campaign officials promoted the appearance in online posts.

‘Sneaker Con’ indeed.

This One’s For Al:  We can all stop wetting our collective beds–Trump’s toast.  Take this article, for example:

Now we’re suddenly hearing all kinds of tall tales on social media about how Trump is going to be able to come up with the money, pay the penalties, and keep his financial house of cards intact. But these storylines are all kind of chuckle worthy.

For starters, while Trump recently claimed that he had about $400 million cash on hand, this is a guy who constantly lies – especially about his finances. So any news outlets printing that $400 million number today, as if it were a reliable figure, are being complicit. People who are deeply in debt tend to have very little cash on hand, because everything that comes in the door goes right back out each month to make the minimum payments on that debt.

Whenever Donald Trump takes yet another devastatingly ugly blow, there are always these contrarian hot takes about how he’s going to magically get away with it all. But these storylines are never realistic, and never end up saving him. It’s all just noise.

Which Reminds Me–Trump’s Totally Out Of It.  Check out these excerpts from his speech last night in Michigan.  Any news outlet that doesn’t feature these is incompetent.  Just a few:

Trump Beat Biden in 2016.

You got indicted. Now in my whole life I didn’t know what the N word. I didn’t know what indictment meant.

You know paper, it sounds a little crazy. They have such secure paper now. It’s such a complex instrument. The paper today is incredible.”

Michigan, get out and vote on November 27th.”

There’s plenty more.  Click on ’em and see for yourself.  Betcha the NYTimes doesn’t write nine stories about this.

Everything You Probably Didn’t Want To Know About The Office Space Situation In Wilmington.  It’s a pretty good article.  Short story:  There’s good space and there’s bad space.

What do you want to talk about?

Similarly, there is no end to his suckers and marks eagerness to be suckered and abused. Although, the law of gravity has not been repealed. I have to STILL think that there is a moment when it all starts crumbling down.

Maybe that’s my eagerness to be suckered and abused by the idea of a just cosmos?

Well it seems that “Sneakercon” is appropriately named attracting the number one “Con” artist today. I don’t know why the orange grifter doesn’t team up with the “pillow guy” and sell a big sneaker-pillow. Maybe an inflatable sneaker that you can take off your foot and rest your weary head on in your cell, dreaming of those days when you could pretend to be rich.

Why would anyone want to work in Wilmington when there are so many great suburban office parks? Plenty of free parking, you don’t get harassed by bums and junkies, and no wage tax. There are no benefits to working in town unless you are within 1-2 blocks of Rodney square and are making six figures. It may have made sense back in the 70s and 80s but market street os just boutiques and over priced resturants. When dry goods closed it pretty much was the end of retail in Wilmington

      Wow, you are old……

      • LandlithLou says:

Dry goods didn’t close that long ago 30 years and change.

But my point stands. There is no compelling reason to have a business in Wilmington, especially if you want in-person employees. The amenities for the average desk jockey are limited and it isn’t until you hit that six figure threshold that taking advantage of the limited and overpriced dining options makes sense. Most people would be happy to have a Wawa around the corner from their office than Bardea

        • Alby says:

If you’re talking about the Wilmington location, it closed in 1974. That would be (checks slide rule) 50 years ago.
