Are the misogynistic people behind the forced-birth movement really so oblivious to popular opinion that they think they can put the birth-control toothpaste back in the tube? Do they really think their irresponsible moron-bro base will be in favor of impregnating the women they use sexually? Apparently so.

If history is any guide, those new fathers won’t take care of those fetuses once they turn into kids, but even so, what kind of monster wants new innocents thrown into the hellscape the MAGAts mean to create?

This synth-pop track from MGMT’s 2008 LP “Oracular Spectacular” was incredibly popular when it was released. It wasn’t a hit by chart standards, barely entering the Hot 100 (their only single to do so) and reaching No. 17 on the Rock and Alternative chart, but it got lots of airplay and has had a long afterlife on TV soundtracks.

The video was controversial because people thought the toddler was being traumatized. The band released a “making of” video showing the child interacting with the actors for people who don’t understand the concept of video editing. The mom is played by singer/songwriter Joanna Newsom.

The song holds up even without the heavy production. There are numerous acoustic covers like this one by Australian singer/songwriter Ben Lee.

In fact, the song can be transferred to just about any genre you care to name, as this YouTuber demonstrated by mashing it together with dozens of other tunes, from rap to Disney.
