1. A Simpler Solution? R Mike Simpler has filed to run in the 14th RD race. The Rehoboth area district has been home to Pete Schwartzkopf for almost two decades. His chosen successor, disgraced former State Auditor Kathy McGuiness, is in a three-way primary with progressives Marty Rendon and Claire Snyder-Hall. Simpler’s website, uh, doesn’t work. Unless you’re interested in whatever a Nayzilam Device is. I’m assuming he’s related to Ken Simpler, although…maybe not. Depending on whether you follow him on Facebook or LinkedIn, his job history is not synched, unless there are two Mike Simplers from Rehoboth. He looks not unlike Pistol-Packin’ Pete.
Anybody got anything to add?2. Don Farrell To Challenge Zanthia Oliver? If the ethically-challenged Oliver runs again for her Wilmington City Council seat, the answer is yes. Hey, at least Farrell has a track record of public advocacy for police body cameras and extensive testing and remediation for lead in Delaware’s water supply. He has also raised concerns over the planned expansion of a drug manufacturing plant on Wilmington’s eastside. That stacks up pretty darn well in contrast to a hack who is just in it to line her own pockets. Farrell strikes me as a legitimate community activist. A real chance for an upgrade here. Kinda wish someone like him would run against Stephanie Bolden…
3. Filings: R State Senator Eric Buckson (SD 16); D State Rep. Krista Griffith (RD 12); D State Rep. Sophie Phillips (RD 18); R State Rep. Rich Collins (RD 41).

James Taylor is running against Bolden. I’ve met and broke bread with James. He’s solid and a much better alternative to Bolden.
Uh, no. He’s made some of the most egregious anti-gay and anti-female remarks I’ve ever heard from anybody who anybody would label as progressive.
Well, I disagree. I realize James is fallible but he’s a much better alternative to Bolden. I think he’s going to get favorable results in my neighborhood this year. Plus, Bolden po’d some of my neighbors with comments she made at an event at Brandywine Park.
