James Smith – the stage name is short for ladies love cool James – had been dissed by Kool Moe Dee for stealing his rap style. Mr. J took some swipes back at Mr. Dee on the title track from what was considered a comeback album in 1990, five whole years after Mr. J’s debut. FWIW, LL Cool J went on to an acting career and just announced a new album, his first in eight years. Kool Moe Dee was last heard from in 1994.
