New music is El Somnambulo’s territory, but I heard this on WXPN’s local music show last week and I’m not willing to wait until his end-of-the-month roundup to share it.
Fataday Korngor is a DelCo guy who makes music with a backing band composed of a childhood friend and a couple of guys he met in college. This track, an upbeat breakup tune for a girl who ghosted him “like a Casper,” recalls so many ’90s indie bands I can’t list them all, but Korngor wears his influences well.
Korngor is a prolific songwriter – he said he wrote 30 songs for his just-released second solo LP, “Growing Pains.” He also works with a Philly band called Sacred Monsters, fronted by Kathleen Poliski.
