‘Bulo’s Fave Tunes: July, 2024
While few months can ever match last month for music, these tunes are quite satisfying, with a few genuine stunners in the mix. Think of it as that follow-up album that people only grow to appreciate years later. Or–just enjoy the tunes:
Nathan’s Fave?:
I hear echoes of Whiskeytown. If you don’t know ’em, you should:
This, like motherhood, has staying power:
New Chuck Prophet. Woo-hoo!:
OK, kids, Trivia Time: Who wrote this song?:
1. Monobloc – always nice to see good new guitar band.
2. Armlock- guess I’m in the mood for rock this morning.
3. King Gizzard – extra points for the porcine cover.
Interesting choices–did not see them coming.
I like Ginger Root, but this is not one of my favorites. I could have easily put Chuck Prophet in my top 3. The Laughing song loses points for the video. The MJ Lenderman song is pleasant.
And I do have a penchant for indie guitar rock.
I rarely share my monthly faves–b/c we’ve got the end of the year best of the best.
But, if I had to pick my year-end faves right now, I think Laura Marling, Mustafa, and Donavan Woods would likely make the list. With Monobloc and The Beaches also in the mix.
But we go back and listen to all the songs before making the list. By ‘we’, I mean my wife, daughters, son-in-law and me.
Man, and I thought I listened to a lot of music. Kudos for your forays into IT ALL. Thanks for the new tunes.
Like Jesus, I suffer so that you may flourish…
