The most important item(s) you’ll read all day is/are in the comments section of the Lydia York article.  Suffice it to say that the State Democratic Party’s embrace of a nominee as consistently corrupt as Bethany Hall-Long is an utter disgrace.  And spare me the bullshit about the democratic process that led to her endorsement.  It was engineered by a few people to ensure that BHL would have at least one thing to run on–that she was the endorsed candidate of the Delaware Democratic Party.  It doesn’t really matter whether these past-their-prime insiders get dumped after the election.  They’ve already established their utter irrelevance, and the irrelevance of the state Party.

Cook Political Report Predicts Meyer Victory.  Kind-of surprising considering the caution they generally exhibit.  It’s behind a paywall, but the gist is that all the scandal has taken a major toll on her campaign.  BTW, if you live in Wilmington, why in Hell would you vote for a mayoral candidate who has spent the last few months strapping his corrupt co-pilot to his back?  He sucked as Governor, he will suck as Mayor, and he refuses to recognize blatant wrongdoing when he sees it every day.  (Come to think of it, when you’re outsourcing government to Buccini/Pollin, casting a blind eye at corruption is a plus.)

More Israeli InhumanityHey, they were in the way.  They got what they deserved:

The Israeli military fired a missile killing five people in the lead vehicle of an aid convoy in Gaza that it claimed had been hijacked by militants.

The D.C.-based nonprofit that organized the convoy, American Near East Refugee Aid, known as Anera, described it as a “shocking incident” in a statement on Friday and said that those killed were from a local transportation company. It was urgently seeking more details about the incident.

The convoy had been delivering medical supplies and fuel to an Emirati-run hospital in Rafah, Palestine Country Director Sandra Rasheed said in the statement to The Washington Post, and its route was coordinated with the Israel Defense Forces.

Yo, Feckless Joe.  Gonna do anything before you disappear into the ether?

Jack White Being Too Subtle?  I report, you decide:

Rocker Jack White joined the chorus of music icons fighting Donald Trump’s use of their songs on Thursday and said he was going to sue the former president.

White shared a video posted by campaign official Margo Martin that showed Trump and used “Seven Nation Army” from White’s former band The White Stripes.

“Oh….Don’t even think about using my music you fascists,” White wrote on Instagram. “Law suit coming from my lawyers about this (to add to your 5 thousand others.) Have a great day at work today Margo Martin.”

“And as long as I’m here, a double fuck you DonOLD for insulting our nation’s veterans at Arlington you scum,” he wrote. “You should lose every military family’s vote immediately from that if ANYTHING makes sense anymore.”

Reich:  How To Rein In Elon Musk.  Here are two that can, and should, be done immediately:

4. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission should demand that Musk take down lies that are likely to endanger individuals – and if he does not, sue him under Section Five of the FTC Act.

5. The US government – and we taxpayers – have additional power over Musk, if we’re willing to use it. The US should terminate its contracts with him, starting with Musk’s SpaceX.

In deciding upon which private-sector entities to contract with, the US government is supposed to consider the contractor’s reliability. Musk’s mercurial, impulsive temperament makes him and the companies he heads unreliable. The government is also supposed to consider whether it is contributing to a monopoly. Musk’s SpaceX is fast becoming one.

Why is the US government allowing Musk’s satellites and rocket launchers to become crucial to the nation’s security when he’s shown utter disregard for the public interest? Why give Musk more economic power when he repeatedly abuses it and demonstrates contempt for the public good?

A project for Kamala to begin–on Day One.

What do you want to talk about?

    Did Lydia Cook’s report drop?

    • No. Gonna post their explanation about the report as soon as I get an update, which I expect imminently.

      • Oops, posted it elsewhere. Here it is:

“The report that you are referencing is not complete. It is in draft form, awaiting at least 3 steps. It won’t be released until it’s done.”

A comment: I think that the part about one certain ‘dual employee’ should be released. Too timely to be withheld, IMO.

However, I am now content to wait. Why?:

        1. I don’t think BHL will win, regardless of whether this information surfaces before the primary.

        2. I THINK I know why the report can’t be released yet. No, it’s not the BHL thing. But, if I’m right, it will be deliciously embarrassing, if not downright scandalous, to one of the worst Delaware Way practitioners out there.

“Harris says she would appoint a Republican to her Cabinet if elected”

    (facepalm)

  3. Arthur says:

After much consideration Ive determined the RNC election campaign is the Pee Wee campaign (not referring to the size of their mushroom headed, well you know) their entire strategy is simply “I know you are but what am I?”

    • Alby says:

Well, they’re running away from their actual policy proposals, Trump is at the he’ll-promise-anything stage of his attention-seeking, and they can’t scrape what they stepped in at Arlington off their shoe. Warmed-over schoolyard taunts are all they have, and they’re deluded that it’s popular because hey, 50 million Russian bots can’t be wrong.

  4. I says:

Can we talk about NCC Council District 12? Does Kevin Caneco have a good shot? I’m not in his district but appreciate his advocacy for citizens fighting against warehousing.

    • FWIW2024 says:

Caneco ABSOLUTELY has a good shot! He’s been campaigning hard for over a year. He did well 4 years ago and it’s an open seat this time. His opponent got in very late and has half the funding. Kevin is needed on County Council!

      • Kevin’s win would help continue moving Council towards a body that can’t be bought.

Not there yet, but closer. Didn’t include that in my intriguing races series b/c I didn’t, and don’t, think it will be that competitive.
