Trump did and said some dumb shit yesterday, I don’t even know what and I don’t much care. He’ll do and say some dumb shit today that they’ll report tomorrow, too, because they just can’t quit saying “You won’t believe what he said now.” Yes, yes I would. He obviously will say anything, and it’s a fool’s errand to listen to it, so I’m not going to. Fuck that guy, and the media that pretends not to know that he’ll say anything to anybody if he thinks it will make him look good.

The so-called news media will be the last to catch on, but as this former GOP pollster contends, even Trump’s fans are fed up with his shtick. Sarah Longwell said,

They’re bored with the drama, they’re tired of the insults, they’re tired of the lies about the election. They want to know what is somebody going to do for them. They want to know how somebody is going to handle the economy, handle inflation, and they’re interested in a new pitch and that’s what Kamala Harris has for them.

A lot of it is the contrast that they see with her message, which is being optimistic and uplifting, and Donald Trump’s being doom and gloom. And that exhaustion is in there, they’re just like, “I’m tired of this and I like the idea of something new.”

The ripple effects of the pandemic are still moving through the economy, and it’s not just the record price-gouging profits at the grocery store. The next of the centipede’s shoes to drop: Almost a trillion dollars in commercial real estate loans are coming due this year, and plunging values in the commercial market means banks are going to take it on the chin. And when banks take it on the chin, it should go without saying, you take it on the chin, because government is poised to step in to help – them, not you.

You might think that when you buy an electric vehicle it gets a gas-guzzler off the road, but it’s just not so. A lot of them, even the clunkers that aren’t fit to drive, are exported to Third World countries, where they continue to spew carbon dioxide while endangering public safety. It’s a reminder that individual private vehicles, even EVs, will never curb emissions as much as efficient public transit does.

The floor’s yours.

Actually it puts your trade-in on the used car lot. A used ICE car is usually more affordable than a new EV, so people who need transportation are buying them, even as prices are bid up due to low inventory.

Also, the continued low price of gas has predictably caused US car makers to increase production of gas-powered pickup trucks and SUVs.

In case you didn’t realize already that the Lt. Governor’s office is a complete mess….

    • Thank goodness the AG’s office, you know, the people that BHL is feuding with, discovered yet another ‘mistake’ from BHL and her incompetent Chief Of Staff.

BTW, Lydia, time’s a’wasting. I don’t give a shit WHO has to technically sign off on that report. It will come out, it will reveal that Bethany has been stealing money from the state through her employer, and you’re just gonna be left to explain why you delayed that report until after the primary.

No explanation will be good enough.

  3. Staffing says:

Susan Holloway isn’t her incompetent chief of staff. There’s another guy who is her incompetent chief of staff.

    • Well, one guy who USED to be her incompetent Chief Of Staff went into business with her husband while STILL working as her incompetent Chief of Staff. Their business–using inside info to flip Section 8 houses.

Which is why NCC cut ties with Bethany’s husband.

      • KCdem says:

Actually, no that person wasn’t her COS either. BHL has had the same COS for the past 8 years and he is still there. He worked previously for the Dept of Justice and for Ruth Ann when she was Governor.

        • Fair enough. Let’s just see what the two miscreants’ roles are/were:

Susan Holloway: “Prescription Opioid Settlement Distribution Commission Executive Director”.

          Tanner Polce: “Policy Director”.

Her longtime Chief of Staff is Keith Warren.

I find the BHL ads appearing on WBOC to be repugnant, dragging the politiscape down into the kind of filth ads in nj are infamous for doing. Meyer ads do not represent lies against BHL.

    • Watcher says:

Well those adds are paid for by the New Jersey Laborer’s Union and George Norcross, so they are in fact straight out of Jersey, on behalf of BHL. Those are her main supporters at this point

      • El Somnambulo says:

Yep Jimmy’s peeps were out in force yesterday, with Matt Meyer’s face superimposed on their signature giant rat.

He’s sure wasted a lot of his members’ money. Wonder if they’ll wake up to see what he’s done after BHL loses.

        • KCdem says:

The Norcross connection is enough to run far, far away. Wasn’t he just indicted as well???
I’m guessing they are responsible for the defacing of Meyer signs too… gee if only there were cameras that could see that sort of thing and expose who is tampering with signs… hmm sound familiar?

          • El Somnambulo says:

Well, Norcross is at LEAST a second generation of corruption.

In other words, a Badge of Honor in New Jersey.

          • I love public schools says:

You’re thinking Bob Menendez, but yeah. I lived in southern NJ, but the Norcross machine did a lot to stifle progressives.

            • Well, Norcross’ dad was a labor leader who wielded enormous power as well.

But you’re right, don’t think he had the corruption issues his son does.

I think another brother is a congressman. Or is it George Norcross’ son?

      • Alby says:

I guess her weak fund-raising wasn’t the impediment many supposed.
