I want to thank the idiot with a gun who invaded Trump’s golf course. I was beginning to despair of the media ever getting past their fixation on the culinary choices of Haitian immigrants. Now they can fixate instead on whether the guy is a Democrat or Republican. Or maybe not. Apparently people talk about its past problems with race. Spoiler alert: The accompanying photo is of a KKK march through town.
Because of them media’s Trump obsession, you have to go to Scientific American to read about the the longterm threat posed by forever chemicals in pesticides. Priorities, people! What do people in Ohio diners think about those pet-eating immigrants, and are they really sure about what’s in that meatloaf they ordered?

The bonkers attack on Springfield immigrants may be an attempt to help out Bernie Moreno, who slightly trails Sherrod Brown in the Ohio Senate race. Moreno is a MAGA car dealer who is energetically leaning into the immigrant hate.
Per said idiot on the golf course, so far little has been established other then that he’s both a former Trump voter and consistently on the far right, and a lover of all things guns and military. As usual the MSM immediately referred to it as an assassination attempt, setting the tone before anything really was known. Suspect much more is to be known, but only after the pro Trump message was delivered.

The guy is all over the place voted for Trump; wrote a book; went to Ukraine; tried to recruit people to fight for Ukraine. Now he does not like Trump so I guess we have that last thing in common.
Seems like a Walter Mitty type. Wanted to go to Ukraine, has no military training or other relevant background, talked a lot of fantasy about how he was going to get Afghan fighters to the Ukrainian army.
Evil isn’t banal so much as evil people are.
