El Somnambulo asked this question last week, but unlike others, my answer is backward-looking. I still want to see an actual audit of Bethany Hall-Long’s books, because I still don’t understand how her husband managed to ring up tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands, of campaign expenses on personal accounts that the campaign then “reimbursed” him for.
At the very least it sounds like they were charging things on a personal account that might have been attached to a cash-back or rewards program. If that’s all it was, I’d think it would be exonerating to show it, so I don’t think that’s all it was. And don’t insult my intelligence by pretending she didn’t know anything about it.
I worry that because she lost this will all be dropped; that would be the Delaware Way. It shouldn’t be.
