Hurricane Milton will dominate news coverage today. Too bad none of the precipitation will make it up north; all of Delaware is either “abnormally dry” or in “moderate drought,” and might not get significant rainfall until next month.

A teenager in Gaza, Hassan Hamad, kept filming the destruction caused by the Israeli assault and posting to social media. Israel threatened him to stop, and killed him when he wouldn’t.

Palestinian journalist Maha Hussaini posted a photo of one threatening WhatsApp message sent to Hamad. It read, “Listen, if you continue spreading lies about Israel, we’ll come for you next and turn your family into… This is your last warning.” Hussaini said that Hamad also received “several calls from an Israeli officer ordering him to stop filming in Gaza. He didn’t comply.

He was killed in a drone strike on his home. I’m sure the apologists will be along any minute to tell us he deserved it.

In the category of Unsurprising News, it turns out that “FBI investigation” into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was a not-at-all-funny joke, a sham from jump. Told you, unsurprising.

In further Unsurprising News, Trump’s cartoonish spokesman, Steven Cheung Oddjob, claimed that the Bob Woodward story about Trump giving Putin COVID tests during the early stages of the pandemic was a lie. The Kremlin confirmed it was true. I’m sure they’re lying too, eh Oddjob?
