Prepared this before my trip to Phillies’ Spring Training.  Some late additions turned this into an incredible musical month. About as diverse as it gets, too:

OK, just gotta share my fave Mary Chapin Carpenter song of all-time.  From the 1980’s, made it onto my “Good Riddance To The Eighties” tape:

But, I digress.  Back to 2025, already in progress:

McKinley Dixon!!:

Ya say you want some git-tar?:

Wasn’t that crazy about ‘Orlando In Love’.  This one, though…:

The Micro-Dose Song Of The Month.  Got any for me?:

Think I like this one more than ‘Sober’–and I really like ‘Sober’:

The title reminds me–if you haven’t read George Saunders’ “Lincoln In The Bardo’, you really should.  ‘Bardo’ is kinda like purgatory, only different:

OWWWW!:

We’re gonna finish strong:

Early contender for Album Of The YearAn unexpected deep dive into a treasure trove of home movies inspired this album.  You could pick any of a number of songs off it, I chose this one:

Man, this month turned out a lot better than I thought it would…

Didn’t find something I really, really liked till I got towards the bottom — the songs by Bartees Strange, the Tubs, Mei Semones and Sacred Paws. I’ll give up to one “really” to those by Squid, Japanese Breakfast and maybe Youth Lagoon. I did like the Dutch Interior git-tar but wasn’t crazy about the song. Shouldn’t McKinley Dixon change his name to Denali Dixon?

    Hi, El Somnambulo,

    Hope you’re enjoying the weather!

Glad to see that MCC has Scottish folksingers Julie Fowlis and Karine Polwart with her on this album. They are wonderful singers in their own right.

    Here’s my MCC fave: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om3j8VP1oCI
