Mimi Minor-Brown Stonewalls Press On Stell Parker-Selby’s Absence.  So Does Staff:

That’s the Mimi Minor-Brown I know first-hand.  BTW, the tall gentleman in the second video accompanying her?  That’s the Sergeant-At-Arms who got in my face at the County Democratic Convention.

Perhaps it’s just me, but what I saw on those videos is, um, not a good look.  I don’t blame staff.  They’re only doing what they’ve been instructed to do.  I mean ‘ordered’.  Not sure morale is much better under Mimi than it was under Our Pal Val.  Tough to be happy when you work in a thugocracy.

Plane Crash In India With 242 Passengers Aboard.  Yes, the plane was a Boeing:

An Air India flight carrying 242 passengers and crew members crashed shortly after taking off in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad on Thursday, the airline said. There was no immediate information about survivors, but India’s health minister said “many people” had died.

The plane crashed into the campus of a medical college, hitting a dining facility where dozens of students were eating, said the dean of the college, Minakshi Parikh. At least five students were killed, the dean said.

Air India said Flight 171 from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick Airport had taken off at around 1:40 p.m. on Thursday. The airline said that the plane, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, was carrying 169 Indian citizens, 53 British, seven Portuguese and one Canadian. It added that injured people were being taken to hospitals.

Democracy Scores Win In Georgia:

Georgia’s highest court on Tuesday overturned four rules passed by the State Election Board just before last year’s general election, ruling the board overstepped its authority and intruded on lawmaking power reserved for legislators under the state constitution.

The state Supreme Court’s unanimous decision limits the future rulemaking ability of the State Election Board and other executive branch agencies of Georgia’s government.

The board passed a slate of new rules in August and September that mostly had to do with processes after ballots are cast, spawning a flurry of lawsuits.

The new rules brought an outcry that the board’s majority was trying to improperly use its power to help Trump. The board members claimed the changes were needed to improve the accuracy of results.

David Hogg Gone.  I think this is good.  He can do his work trying to get rid of the Democratic deadwood without the gimlet-eyed corporacrats looking over his shoulder:

Progressive activist David Hogg on Wednesday announced he will not be running in the Democratic National Committee’s upcoming election, leaving his post as vice chair following months of tense party infighting over his plan to take down Democratic incumbents.

Hogg said he will devote his full attention to his Leaders We Deserve, a grassroots group he co-founded with the goal of electing young, progressive candidates to Congress and state legislatures.

Hogg stirred criticism within the DNC after he shared his plan for his group to spend millions funding challengers to Democratic incumbents in safe Democratic districts, a decision many in the party felt was at odds with his leadership role.

That frustration was laid bare in a leaked recording of a DNC meeting obtained by Politico in which Chair Ken Martin told Hogg he has “essentially destroyed any chance I have to show the leadership that I need to.”

Musk Wants Trump Back:

Troops And Families Don’t Like LA Deployments:

California national guards troops and marines deployed to Los Angeles to help restore order after days of protest against the Trump administration have told friends and family members they are deeply unhappy about the assignment and worry their only meaningful role will be as pawns in a political battle they do not want to join.

Three different advocacy organisations representing military families said they had heard from dozens of affected service members who expressed discomfort about being drawn into a domestic policing operation outside their normal field of operations. The groups said they have heard no countervailing opinions.

“The sentiment across the board right now is that deploying military force against our own communities isn’t the kind of national security we signed up for,” said Sarah Streyder of the Secure Families Initiative, which represents the interests of military spouses, children and veterans.

“Families are scared not just for their loved ones’ safety, although that’s a big concern, but also for what their service is being used to justify.”

Chris Purdy of the Chamberlain Network, whose stated mission is to “mobilize and empower veterans to protect democracy”, said he had heard similar things from half a dozen national guard members. “Morale is not great, is the quote I keep hearing,” he said.

Delaware’s New Corporate Bill Isn’t Soup Yet.  Meyer plans to defend bill in court:

A constitutional challenge to Delaware’s hard-fought corporation law change, which critics had derided as a “billionaires bill,” is likely headed to the state’s Supreme Court after Gov. Matt Meyer intervened in the case last week.

Last week, Meyer formally intervened in one of the constitutional challenges in order to defend the new law. That case involves a plumber’s union pension fund suing Dropbox Inc. on claims the tech company’s recent move to Nevada from Delaware was a “self-interested defensive measure” designed to quash lawsuits from mom-and-pop investors.

The plumber’s union further claimed that Dropbox can’t use SB 21 – and its new protections for companies from shareholder lawsuits – as a defense because, they said, the new law “is unconstitutional.”

In the governor’s motion to intervene in the case, Meyer’s attorneys said the constitutional challenge, if victorious, could undermine the predictability of Delaware’s corporate franchise.

This is an easy fix for Mimi. Tell the press whether Shelby is cognitive or not and compassionately call for her to step down.

Why Curtis rogers is still employed by the state is mind boggling. But that’s another thing

  2. Eric Blair says:

Watching the CoastTV presenter chase Mimi around Leg Hall was very satisfying. Especially watching Kerri skulking 2 steps behind her with a dopey look on her face.

  3. Joe Connor says:

I am not a great judge of credibility but the Speaker’s high pitched nervous responses to the reporter’s questions were such obvious lies it was easy to see. Her defensiveness and condescending tone didn’t help her either. But her gutless disrespectful use of a staffer who did her best was indicative of the Speaker’s complete lack of political skill.
