Deranged Narcissist Bombs Iran
Uh, guess there’s no turning back now:
The United States has entered Israel’s war against Iran.
American warplanes dropped bombs on three nuclear sites in Iran on Saturday, President Trump announced on Saturday night, bringing the U.S. military directly into the war after days of uncertainty about whether he would intervene.
After a week of mixed signals, President Trump, who has long vowed to steer America clear of overseas “forever wars,” authorized U.S. forces to strike Iran’s most heavily fortified nuclear installation, deep underground. The goal, American and Israeli officials have said, is to prevent Iran from building a nuclear bomb.
For days, Mr. Trump had been weighing whether to provide Israel the powerful munitions needed to destroy Iran’s deeply buried nuclear enrichment facilities, at an installation known as Fordo. Only American bombs known as bunker busters are believed up to the job, and only American aircraft can deliver them.
Israel and Iran, sworn enemies for decades, have been exchanging attacks since June 13, when the Israelis launched a surprise assault that targeted Iranian infrastructure, including nuclear installations, and military leaders. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his nation had no choice but to act if it wanted to stave off a nuclear “holocaust.”
Remember, kids, the person who ordered these actions is a deranged narcissist who appears to be sinking deeper into dementia with every passing day.
In other words, Situation Normal: All Fucked Up.
Congress is useless at this point, and they don’t seem to care at all.
That reminds me–Chris Coons was at the convention today.
Somebody shouted ‘Free Palestine’.
Somebody has GOT to primary Coons. I’d say Sarah, and you should have heard him buttering her up today. He’s a’scared of her.
Sarah loves that AIPAC money. She won’t do anything. He isn’t scared of her; he sees her as one of his own.
The best we can hope for is that this is a one-off bombing mission.
However, it is is, it might also turn out to be Trump’s ultimate distraction — take our minds off immigration, the Marines and National Guard patrolling Los Angeles, the negotiations over his not so beautiful bill, the countless lawsuits in our federal courts.
Note too that this military action creates a pretext for Trump to declare yet another national emergency — but this time it would be one that would enable him to justify activation of the military within our borders, threatening the civil rights of all.
My speculation here rests on a rather dubious assumption — that there is a measure of rationality to Trump’s thought processes.
We cannot completely discount the possibility that he has been played beautifully by Netanyahu, that we have been lured into this conflict by another narcissist who happens to be twice as intelligent as the one our citizens elected.
